I hate the idea of it because I despise the woman but LAB are a joke and will continue to be until the next election ~(which the Tories will call at the right time, pretending it was all to do with ART50 but really it's all to do with knowing they'll win) and then we're stuck with the bitch.

I thought so too, to be honest. But do you really think /pol/ and the alt-right are any better? The threads and posts I see on here are just as quick to emotion, bereft of reason and filter the world through their narrative. And frankly, both sides attribute that kind of behaviour to the other, and if you look at the history of it, it arguably begins with the likes of Rupert Murdoch, an anti-establishment figure whose print and media are broadly right wing in character. And this proves my point: no one on /pol/ would recognise the right wing has had a hand in lowering the standard of discourse. Everything has become a dizzying and simplified us vs. them battle.

The hideous irony of your post is I've seen leftwingers say similar things, that the rightwing media and that use more deceptive means, and if they are to succeed they need to abandon prissy values like honesty. Slowly, then, truth is extinguished from the world.

>“The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.”
If the kind of truth, honesty and integrity espoused by George Orwell aren't British values, and we need to abandon them to win and succeed, you don't end up preserving Britain. You end up turning Britain into America.

>Hideous irony
Some of us deign to live in a real world instead of a fantasy.

Here's a riddle.
Given you are playing a game that you and your opponent have staked life and world changing bets on, and cheating and breaking of the rules is often and accepted as how the game works.

Is it correct to believe that losing everything is fine, just so long as you kept to "truth, honesty and integrity", letting your opponent walk all over you, because you were afraid of your standing?

Regardless, Orwell was all for emotive polemics with smudging and smearing of the facts, from the Road to Wigan Pier to his fiction, so you have no argument to hand here.

No he didn't. He ran against the MP who is the speaker, but if elected would have just been a normal MP.

The house would have had to elect another speaker (with frankly would have suited the Tories)

Traditionally, the other parties do not stand against "The Speaker Seeking Re-election" and the speaker does not make any political speeches.

I've been polite, but quite frankly, you're fucking retarded. Your riddle was, oh, imagine you're in a game where this and that and that! You imagine, then, life as a competitive, where there's a simple and straightforward winner. That's plainly false. How you play the game determines whether you're winning or losing because you're correct - we did have a good civilization. The British Empire was incredible, with emphasis on tradition and correct values. It wasn't a competition of, oh, look at us winning. It was a manner and style of living life that produced the greatest degree of prosperity and happiness.

You aren't even British. You're a market capitalist, neoconservative, wannabe American. Bravo, you cunt. It's because like you with your simplemindedness, two dimensionality, black and white, winning and losing, morality who've practically fucking destroyed the world. Gg.

Lacking an argument, the man goes into an ad hominem polemic of fantasy ideals of what the British Empire was like, without ever addressing how to deal with opponents who break his rules of discourse, and destroy his tradition, belief and values!

After all, he has no response, and no clue!
He'd rather stick to his dreams and looking down on competition, on which the empire's financial and industrial success was wrought, or any movement to win a culture war to turn back the clock!

It's too hard! He'd rather insult the people who want to fight back, instead of just let the continual destruction of those same traditions and "correct values"!

All because they aren't doing it right for his morals, out of place even during the golden era of his daydreams.

You're misrepresenting what I said. Hardly surprising given your position.

I don't disapprove of competition. You represented life as a competition, and it's that which I was critical of. Are you genuinely so stupid you failed to recognise that nuance or are you such a cunt you deliberately misrepresented it? Probably the former, frankly. The way you live is crucially important for happiness, and if you do abandon truth, honesty and integrity, what you end up with is what we've got, no one knows what's right or wrong, truth is in flux and it becomes determined by whatever is convenient.

I'll reiterate because you've undoubtedly misunderstood. The media, the government, the world at large operates by emotional appeal, and with that, facts and truth are abandoned. People live in fantasies conjured up. No one knows what is true and what is false because both sides are doing it and deliberately skewering the truth. This is not a harmonious and happy way to live life. This should be the only argument necessary, frankly, because this behaviour undermines individual autonomy, and in the end, it's good for neither side. We just end up with a population of braindead, over emotional children -- does that sound familiar?

I'll give you a small example which may seem trivial but imagine it on a global scale. During the Cold War, the CIA financed all kinds of modern art movements, including Jackson Pollock, without these artists ever knowing they were being used to promote the CIA's propaganda that the USA had a booming art scene opposed to the USSR's cold, dead social realism-only policy. Now, given what you know about modern art, that it promotes degeneracy, liberalism and anti-white sentiment, this would seem counterintuitive, but it was the CIA's policy at the time and perhaps it contributed to the winning of the Cold War. In the long run, though, it's probably done great harm to the USA culturally. Such is the penalty for being a lying cunt.

>>
>>80799239
I described how you misrepresented what I said, and I then clarified and reclarified. You see, I think understanding and communication are important, and through them, we develop. You seem to think the opposite, that we should ignore everything and just hammer out our own message as hard as we can, whether we're wrong or not. No wonder, then, you've failed there to provide any explanation or clarification.

I think I've explained my points clearly enough, then, that it can be said with certainty that rather than self-aware, you're merely the product of the cultural environment of confusion in which you were raised. I hope you'll join me in the pursuit of truth instead of taking a side like life is a football match.
>>

And to whit, I don't care, as proof you are losing the culture war, in pursuit of your "truth".

Polemics and lectures aren't persuasive, and they never were in the hundred to two years that you deify, and as much, I can dismiss you out of hand and continue doing as little as I can to get you to witter and retort to the sound of your own voice, wasting your time in meaninglessness just to reinforce your own sense of self righteousness.

If you all you have is screeching and lecture hall soapboxing, then you won't convince or persuade me that you are right, as someone who should be close to your thinking, and never mind persuading the many who wish to see your values, as mistaken a judgment of the past as they are, completely and irrevocably wiped out.

All you can do is to negatively persuade your point, pushing people further away while you evince yourself that you are true and right, and they must bring themselves to your level, not the other way around.

>>80801116
Life is a competition in that sense, yes, but if you treat life like the only thing that matters is winning, and you sacrifice everything for your victory, with both sides doing precisely that, they merge into two identity factions waging a war against each other just because they're them and we're us.

So yes, they do stand up incorruptible by themselves. Truth, whether you acknowledge it or not, will have its way, but if you take the time to be honest and perpetuate truth, you are in a far better position to make decisions and live. The fact is that if you live your life spreading fallacies and fictions to win an argument, and everyone else is doing exactly the same, you'll no longer know whether what you think and believe are based on fallacies and fictions spread by someone else. Take the time and effort to discover what is true rather than peddling half-truths and misinformation because it suits you and you're better off all around.

Such is the level of concern about the "abuse in this debate", Ross says that sources told him the NEC has suspended all local Labour meetings until after the leadership contest "because of concerns about harassment, intimidation and bullying".

They never made a case for remaining. They made a case for why it's a bad idea to leave. They banked on a completely negative campaign, like a defense lawyer attacking the prosecution's case. Sure my client may be an utter cunt, but the prosecution haven't made the elements for the particular level of douchebaggery of which he's accused.

At least with the Scotland referendum they had good things to say about the UK as well as reasons why it'd be a disaster to leave.

Just read that the day when Eagle announced her leadership bid, Corbyn was at some Cuban event in solidarity with the fucking Castros

The man is a joke, so long as he's in charge of the British left, May will rule Britain for years to come.

It's obvious now: Corbyn was made to say ideals that went counter to his values (pro-Remain), to remain leader of the party. He's now shedding the skin of 'new Labour' to be rid of these Blairite parasites and return the party back to the old Labour party which did represent working people. God bless him, even though Labour is a Socialist party.

Just came back from the gym, watching Sky News and the Labour Party collapsing.

If Corbyn wins he will be challenged "again and again ... until eventually he is defeated" say Labour First group
"If Corbyn is re-elected, however wide the margin, MPs are not going to go crawling back to him saying they made a mistake." - Labour First
