They had a ghostbusters day at the padres game the other day. Everybody in the crowd got a free ghostbusters bobble head. Just think about that.
~15-20,000 people, maybe costs 2-3$ per bobble head. So for that one thing, NOT including the ghostbusters advertising they did for that one game, that was $60,000. Im sure they spent another $40,000 for tv and radio ads, because I was seeing that shit all over the news stations.
$100,000 for one baseball game, in san diego, and Im sure they had other ghostbusters games in other parts of the countries.

I'm sure it's not that bad if you're the intended audience. It's another in the series of chick flick crossovers that Wiig and McCarthy have done. Their main demographic is mostly females, but due to the crossover nature it can appeal to men. Which is exactly what bridesmaids was like.
I don't know why people are freaking out about them ruining ghostbusters anyway, ghostbusters 2 wasn't exactly that great either. It's not like there was ever a set plan for a ghostbusters series and this movie
On metacritic it got mixed reviews which is pretty much what you'd expect out of an averagely written comedy script with good actors. I'm probably not going to the theatre to see it but I wouldn't mind watching it because I do like the actresses and I think regardless of the writing it will have a lot of good parts.
