I've been browsing /pol/ regularly for almost a year now. At first I exclusively enjoyed the taboo jokes and participating in the whole "triggering" phenomenon. This forum became a board of guilty pleasure for me.
However, as the months progressed, I've become more active on /pol/ and developed a more callous personality. I've started to take a more conservative approach to social issues, namely Black Lives Matter, and hold positions starkly different to those held by my friends and people in my age group.
Now that I've been on /pol/ for so long, I can't seem to stay away from it. I've heard the "you'll never leave" jokes, and I'm starting to see some truth in them. Why is that? Why can't I force myself to leave this place? Do you have the same problem?

Recently I started becoming more vocal on my "controversial" political opinions. I've had heated debates about brexit with a bunch of people and have started questioning normies on their cookiecutter liberal opinions. I call out liberal bullshit once in a while and it feels great when no one has any real arguments to make against me.
It's so liberating. I'm able to speak my mind so much more than I used to be, and most people will just listen because they're too passive or indifferent to say anything against it.
