Honestly even though I want Labour to die and consider pic-related one of the highlights of my recent life, I'm coming to like Corbyn as a man if not as a politician.

He's not competent at all and yet he's smiting all the right people. The history books may blame him for the death of the Labour party, but I know the truth: It was already dead, he's just exacting his retribution on those who killed it.

Europe may or may not use it during negotiations. And what if Scots went into outright civil disobedience (not armed resistance. That will never happen)?

Even the Scottish Tory leader accepts that rejecting one would be foolishly antagonistic, especially when it's still not a done deal.

It's not worth the trouble to keep Scotland if it genuinely wants to go. Refusing to let it go would, amusingly, make it want to go more.

A version from closer to home

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUVAYRkdvfc

Arise, ye workers from your slumber,
Arise, ye prisoners of want.
For reason in revolt now thunders,
and at last ends the age of cant!
Away with all your superstitions,
Servile masses, arise, arise!
We'll change henceforth the old tradition,
And spurn the dust to win the prize!

So comrades, come rally,
And the last fight let us face.
The Internationale
Unites the human race.

A whip is the thing that defines a parliamentary party, Carswell once joked that he was UKIP's chief whip in the Commons

It's the official relay between the parties and the speaker. Without a whip, you aren't recognised as a political party by the speaker.

So if Labour has no whip then the official opposition becomes the next party that does, which is the SNP

You need more than one whip though, and as Corbyn can't even fill out a shadow cabinet (he's having to triple up the Scottish and Welsh secretaries and the Leader of the House, which Paul Flynn all does)

>Registered Supporters will also have an individual vote at future Labour Party leadership elections and, if they are on the electoral register in London, the Primary for Labour’s candidate for London Mayor. They will be required to pay a small fee to participate in such elections.

>Labour Party members can sign up to be a Registered Supporter, but they will still only receive a single vote in any selection in which registered supporters are entitled to participate.

The details aren't clear.

It will either be:

They have raised the registered supporter fee from £3 to £25. If this is the case anyone will be able to sign up at http://supporters.labour.org.uk/leadership.

Alternatively, it may be that people who have paid the previous £3 fee will be contacted and given the opportunity to pay £25 to vote.

Another part thinks this piece is lovely and I'm glad you found the inspiration to compose it, even if it was based on someone as pathetic as your outgoing PM. And yet another part is just sad to witness from afar the social, cultural and economic implosion of Britain because 17 million we gullible enough, racist enough and filled with enough hate and fear to believe psychoclowns like Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson. Having lived there I do think Britain can be a wonderful country and I am hoping people like you help preserve some of the beauty amidst the madness.

You're being somewhat disingenuous, I think, to suggest Labour had already undergone a total moderation of their party. There were still a lot of hard line leftwingers in the party ready and eager to propose genuinely socialist policies. They're still there now - look at Jeremy Corbyn. The fact is John Smith died, and if Tony Blair hadn't continued the project guardedly against the rest of Labour, setting up as a party inside a party, they would've headed left. I dislike the man also, and he readily self promotes and claims credit he isn't due, but he played a large part in the moderation of Labour's leftwing policies.

Blair didn't purge many of those people and he did more to purge his ideological ilk than he did to purge the Corbyn's and Livingstones. Instead of "continuing the project" he created a whole new project (New Labour.)

That's hilariously part of why his ideology will die: Because all the competent alternatives to Brown were slaughtered.

By your own implied standards Tony Blair was an utter failure. He did all the bad things of moving too far to the right, while failing to actually purge the socialists so they couldn't extract their revenge a decade later.

Various ministers who were sent to the backbenches forever over relatively minor controversies.
I've heard vague rumblings of some internal buggery too, for people like Ed Balls who were originally just internal advisors but could've been parachuted into safe seats if they weren't considered a threat.

Their total failure to groom actual successors (Blair having his deal with Brown, Brown being a joke.) is a big one - though obviously not a "purge"

Then there's his ultimate responsibility for pissing off the membership by largely disenfranchising them, leading to louder and louder calls for their voice to be heard... And Jeremy Corbyn's (god willing) purge-a-thon.

Blair "purged" the left of the party by marginalising them so they all slowly left the party, with a bunch of traditional Conservative voters became Labour to replace them. Eventually, those Tory-leaning voters moved back to the Conservatives and the increasingly pissed off left-wing voters managed to gain a foothold again in various ways (basically: awful MPs and idiotic Labour members who assumed the old left was dead and made ridiculous decisions).

Blair was basically a failure at basically everything other than winning elections.

http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/blog-summaries/287445-farage-will-attend-republican-convention

Nigel Farage, the British politician who played a key role in the Brexit movement, will attend the Republican National Convention in Cleveland next week.

"Having criticized President Obama for getting involved in British politics, I am not about to endorse anybody," Farage told USA Today. "But I do know a lot of people in the Republican Party, and I'll be interested to hear what Donald Trump has to say in his big speech."
Farage, who recently stepped down as the leader of the right-wing UK Independence Party, would not reveal who had invited him to the convention, saying only that “It was not Trump.”

Prior to Britain's vote to leave the European Union, Obama had argued that the country should remain in the bloc, saying that leaving would put the U.K. at “the back of the queue” as a trading partner.

Trump enthusiastically praised the nation's vote to leave the EU, saying the British “took their country back.”

The left of the party didn't really leave though. The British left has the most strange obsession with Labour - even Shirley Williams is greatly upset to have left it. Even in Scotland, where they could see it was a Blairite nightmare, to even consider the possibility the SNP were an alternative would put most of the Labourites who went beyond "Because my dad voted Labour" into a froth. Even now, there are still "Labour but Yes" types among students.

So the left stayed behind in some numbers. Watching. Waiting.

(Also, I've heard it said before Blair didn't make Tories vote Labour: He made Tories not vote. It's definitely true to a degree, contributing to the voter turnout depression that people who go "He won elections!" tend to ignore.)
