Personally, as a former Dem-turned-center-right, I don't think Trump will be bad at all in Democrat terms. For instance, I don't think he is particularly religious, nor particularly intolerant of gays, lesbians, etc. Nor do I believe he's actually a hardline racist, though he has followers who are. ;>)
Note though, I'm NOT talking about progressive/SJW/radical terms. They hate everything white, conservative white even more so, and the violence and hatred from them will be unrelenting for a long time if Trump gets elected. But personally, I feel that the danger to our society is so great from those people that I never want a Democrat in power again (OR a "cuckservative"/neocon/crypto progressive sympathizer.) Both those groups have shown that they can be bought and taken over. Our traditional parties are effectively dead; it remains to be seen what Trump will remake the Repubs into, but I'm not worried, actually.
If we lose some liberal social values along the way, well, I'm sorry, but I do think that we will survive. At this point, survival is paramount, if only because if we don't make it, any and all positive social values we've helped grow and nurture will be utterly lost. The far left is basically insane at this point, in my terms.
Like I said, a lot of old school Dems are becoming aware of this, and even some former hard-lefties, the ones who were sincerely committed to furthering social values and social justice. These individuals recognize that if we allow the crazies to take full power, what we will have is black Muslims and Arab Muslims in power--fighting for power if they don't agree, which would be the bloodiest war ever. And then, sooner or later, populations like gays and lesbians, non-conforming minorities, and of course non-obedient women would literally be killed--in many cases, even if they did capitulate.
