Example: I'm in stem (Informatics). I was taking general ed requirements for my degree, and both my philosophy and sociology course were hijacked by this toxic ideology. Philosophy was supposed to be about surveying art and images and applying their context and content, but it ended up being a circlejerk. Final assignment was to apply postmodernist, feminist, and postcolonial theories to Avatar (james camereon's).
Sociology wasn't as bad; we went over a chapter on feminism, and it preached about the pay gap myth. I did not score well on the test. The problem is that the rest of the content the book held was reputable, but it made Feminists and SJWs out to be champions of justice.
You might not have run into them, but they exist. The spread is slow, but present.

I went to a private liberal arts school in Minnesota and you could routinely find people with tumblr-tier beliefs. They would sometimes shit up a lecture or discussion, but often just save most of their vitriol and insanity for their internet presences. If you took the right classes you could run into way more of them. I haven't been bored enough to drop in on a feminisms class yet, but they do exist.

I like the school though, it's small and cozy. If you are transferring to the University of Alberta I imagine that would be a little more intimidating.

I like the school too. Never thought about transferring. Small is good, unless your degree really requires some kind of prestige behind it.

Majoring in accounting, then plan to do my CPA. My dad knows people in the industry too so I should be good to start once I graduate. Not the most prestigious major, but the job market is at least safe and the pay is alright.
