Btw, Shanghai isn't that great. It's pretty impressive I gotta admit but you won't see the high highs we have in southern california. No mansions, no mcmansions, not even any quaint pretty houses. Just mid-sized apartments from horizon to horizon. Peaceful place though. I like China a lot now that I've been there.
The other city I went to was Urumqi. The funny thing about lesser Chinese cities is that they don't have crumbling buildings, they have empty new ones. I had read about it but didn't believe it till I saw it. Very fascinating.
Urumqi is allegedly a bad place full of muslim hatred for the conquerers but what I saw was actually a pretty cozy place. The sun being a dim red bulb through the smog was fucking eerie as fuck though.

Central Park was done in the 1800s before northern Manhattan was fully built up. Now its maintained by Central Park Conservancy which is funded entirely by private donations. Its self sufficient. And who's pretending that its New York? Its fucking huge. I live on one side of the Park and walk across for my commute on the other side and its the best thing about NYC.
