How come anti-abortion people never bother to see how much of a strain banning abortions would cause on taxpayers?
1 million babies a year aborted, at least 42% born to mothers below the poverty threshold, 70% below 200% which still qualifies for most government aid programs. Being born into poverty greatly increases your chance of being poor when you're older as most born poor stay poor now.
So let's do a bit of napkin math, shall we? I'll keep the numbers rounded off to make it simple so some error will be added.
700,000 babies below 200% of the poverty line aborted yearly. If abortion was illegal this would be 700,000 babies born to poor parents added to USA yearly. Most abortion patients are single mothers, so there again raises the cost.
So every year we add 700,000(++, accounting for population growth which is beyond the scope of this post) mouths to feed to the taxpayer's checkbook.
How much does a single child cost the taxpayers yearly? Well, you have to add in the welfare programs AND the typical costs of public education, government programs, etc.
About $100,000 per year. Yep, you read that right. $100,000.
That means if we banned abortion we would have an immediate increase of about $70,000,000,000 in taxpayer costs that increased exponentially every year.

Honestly I would become a Republican if the party rejected the evangelical wing and was pro-choice. Probably decriminalization of drugs and prostitution, but that's not really a big deal to me anyway

We do need to get more spics to become okay with abortion, so it need to stay legal. The spic population is exploding and we'll be a real minority within 10 years if we don't stem the tide.
