The GOP Platform Drafting started today which will be finalized by the end of tomorrow in advance of ratification at their Convention in Cleveland next week. Here are some of the accepted changes:
The largest shift so far was in Trade (intensely opposed by the Chamber of Commerce)
>"We need better negotiated trade agreements that put America first," the draft reads, borrowing a line directly from Trump. "Republicans understand that you can succeed in a negotiation only if you are willing to walk away from it," the draft reads. "A Republican president will insist on parity in trade and will stand willing to implement countervailing duties if other countries don't cooperate. At the same time we look to broaden our trade agreements with countries that share our values and commitments to fairness, along with transparency in our commercial and business practices."

Among the provisions is an assessment that internet pornography is a “public health crisis.”
>“Pornography, with his harmful effects, especially on children, has become a public health crisis that is destroying the life of millions. We encourage states to continue to fight this public menace and pledge our commitment to children’s safety and wellbeing,” the amendment stated.

The subcommittee also considered several “bathroom” amendments following the ongoing controversy in North Carolina which requires transgender individuals to use bathrooms as their birth gender, rather than how they identify.
>“Their edict to the States concerning restrooms, locker rooms and other facilities is at once illegal, ominous, and ignores privacy issues,” the draft stated. “We salute the several States which have filed suit against it.”

Other changes:
An amendment offered offered support for the controversial practice of “conversion therapy” for children who identify as LGBT.
>“We support the right of parents to determine the proper treatment or therapy, for their minor children,” the amendment said.

>amendment, which passed the subcommittee and subsequently the full committee, also calls for legislation to require parental consent for minor women to cross state lines for the purposes of obtaining an abortion.

>Dropped pursuit of a constitutional amendment defining marriage as between a man and a woman, opting instead to oppose the Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage and calling on the matter to be decided by the states.

>Alter the party's position on Israel, reinstating a reference to an "undivided" Jerusalem and removing a reference to Palestine in support of a two-state solution.

>On immigration and border security issues that helped draw early interest to Trump’s campaign, the draft of the platform calls for the “construction of a physical barrier” — but news reports late Monday said that the committee might swap in wording explicitly calling for a border wall between the United States and Mexico.

What was not included yet or failed:
>Support for ending NAFTA and raising tariffs on China
>an amendment calling for allowing the teaching of the Bible as part of American History
>An amendment that sought to argue that gay marriage “subverts child’s rights to biological parent” drew condemnation from the moderate members, including an audible gasp of, “Hello, what was that?”

A bunch of wingnut shitheads trying to sneak puritanism in again. This will get struck.
>>
Oh, and good thing for both candidates that party platforms have historically meant fucking nothing.
>>
>>80678413
Why did these cuckservatives have to mention porn and trannies? Absolutely retarded strategy

On other side, the Democratic Party Platform Draft was finalized Saturday, and will be ratified at their Convention at the end of the Month in Philadelphia.

Changes include the following (largely viewed as concessions to Sanders who's supporters made up a third of the draft committee):
>Reinstating a new version of the Glass-Steagall Act, which required that commercial banking and securities activities be separated
>Abolishing the death penalty
>Fighting for a constitutional amendment to overturn the Supreme Court's ruling in the Citizen's United case
>A $15/hr minimum wage
>Instituting a price on carbon
>By a narrow vote of 81-80, the full committee voted Saturday in Orlando to include language encouraging the federal government to remove marijuana from its list as a Class 1 federally controlled substance and provide a "reasoned pathway for future legislation."

What changes were voted down:
>Formal opposition to the TPP
>National ban on fracking.
>Language in a section on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, calling for "an end to occupation and illegal settlements."

I hope this information was helpful for those who don't keep track it.
None of these policy statements are law now but they are each of the parties' blueprints for what could become law in the near future.
>>
>>80678731
They're right but this was the wrong time to bring it up. Just going to divide people at the moment.
>>
>>80678413
Look I'm against degeneracy as well but is this seriously the most important shit they can think of right now?

If Trump didn't win the trade and border security provisions wouldn't even be there. Let that sink in for a minute.
>>
>>80678843
This. Not sure why they pay attention to this shit. It almost ALWYS never gets followed.
>>

They're right though. That shit fucks you up.

Neither party is against the TPP

you're being jewed both ways
>>
>>80679770
ya, but thats not how you win elections
>>
>>80678879
Sure, let's keep letting the left win on social issues and push their degeneracy. After all, we've been letting them get away with it for fifty years and America is doing awesome right :^)
>>
>>80679770
really the whole internet should be banned as a home service. It needs to be COMPLETELY removed to bring society back to sanity. Or at the very least controlled like China with rehab camps for children.

but no party will ever agree to this. and 4chan users are so addicted to the internet they'll never see what really has to be done and how drastic it needs to be.
>>
>>80679874
Trump will ban 4chan for degeneracy

and he's right.

/pol/ btfo
>>
>>80679906
it's true, we are all sick and need help. I for one though know I will never stop without physical intervention
>>
>>80680024
I've considered supporting the Left just because they want to censor the net anyway, even for the wrong reasons.

This might be what we REALLY need to force people back into reality.
>>
>>80679874
>Sure, let's keep letting the left win on social issues and push their degeneracy.
We're not going to get any legislation rammed through this week. The right has momentum after these chimpouts and this is just a distraction that the (((news))) will divert to.

>>
>>80680285
really an anti-internet policy is the most important thing the West needs, but nobody, ESPECIALLY not /pol/ realizes the truth. I'm not even talking just porn, I mean the Internet.
>>
They're going to get crucified by the general retard public for the porn thing, but they're absolutely right. I definitely feel that porn has desensitized me and other men of my generation to normal sex. I actually worked with a 32 year old woman who was a huge slut last year, and when I openly said that porn us fucking men up she was one of the few peoplr who agreed with me. She said that in the last few years, the younger guys she's fucked have very often had trouble cumming.
But of course snarky twitter fuckfaces will never admit it and will just joke about how Republicans are stupid evil sex-haters instead of the first political party to openly try to save normal, healthy sexual relationships.
>>
>>80680606
the Internet itself is a public health crisis, it goes beyond porn even. 4chan is just as addicting if not more. It is to socialization what porn is to real life.
>>
>>80679646
>my conservatism
>in favor of pornography

>a conservative who is OK with pornography

kill yourself.
>>
Honestly, internet anonymity in itself is a problem, as much as 4chan wants to ignore it.

It's destroying morality and promoting degeneracy without accountability.

I would support a de-anonymized real ID internet, and it's going to happen regardless of what wing pushes it.
>>
>>80680788
>a conservative who is OK with going on 4chan, a site full of porn and filth

this place is shit, it really should be shut down

anyone who spends significant time on 4chan should admit they're a closet liberal, any true conservative should hate this place.

This is why the GOP is dead and I'm never coming back.

The goddamned socialists are taking over and the Republicans think porn should be regulated by the Federal government.

Fuck these authoritarians and their savvy political priorities.

Let the commies have it all and let's burn this mutherfucker down.
>>

What do you want to conserve nigga? Your right to watch cuck porn?
>>

because most straight people are as degenerate as faggots. They only pretend they're better by deflecting their own guilt to those more degenerate than themselves.

>>
>>80681345
>milo

you mean >>4chan """"conservative""""

you like to say it's just Milo but 4chan users are every bit as degenerate and closet leftists and always were.
>>
>>80681135
>not culture war horseshit
The culture war is the only thing that matters. It is because conservatives ceded morality and culture to the leftists that we find ourselves living in such a perverse society. What kind of citizenry will you have in a society of widespread pornography, degenerate music and television? We need wholesomeness and heroism or else you will never have a true right-wing society.
>>80681316
Homosexuals are diseased and the males are more than 100x more promiscuous than heterosexuals.
>>
>>80681451
still doesn't change the fact that there are many times more straight fornicators , and though homos are extremely degenerate, premarital sex gets completely ignored, when it's the sole reason so many straights even supported gay rights at all.
>>
>>80681451
4chan is a degenerate leftist crap pile and must go. Funny how no 4chan users realize this
>>
>>80681345
Fuck off. I want a party that stands for bringing back American jobs, securing America's border, and restoring American rights... not a party that's obsessed with who's kissing who and who's jacking off to what.
>>
>>80681270
>going after da porn
>This is why the GOP is dead and I'm never coming back
>dropping a whole political party because they wont let you watch porn
FUCKING KEK
>>
>>80681611
>American jobs

there will be no american workers when everyone's a loser who jacks off, browses 4chan and hates hard work.

Banning the Internet will bring back American workers naturally.
>>
>>80681528
>it's the sole reason so many straights even supported gay rights at all.
People "supported" it because they're idiots who do what the television tells them to do and because they were "educated" by leftist women for years before going on to Marxist universities.
>>80681611
Morality informs society. You can't have order and stability when people dwell in filth.
>>
Literally how to lose an election 101.

Democrats platform:
>"free" health care public option
>"free" college for <$125,000 families
>$15 minimum wage

And Republicans are talking about banning porn. Great.
>>
>>80679906
The internet is the only reason we're even able to fight half the corruption going on right now you daft moron
>>
>>80681753
going on 4chan is dwelling in filth. This is literally the filthiest site on the Internet and people defend it as if it's some moral place
>>
>>80679906
>only certain people should control the flow of information to an area
>this has never been tried or abused at all in human history
>come on guys what could go wrong
>>
>>80681808
you're not really fighting it, you're just talking to a screen, feeling better about yourself to distract from the corruption of yourself.
>>
>>80681960
Why not just make the internet illegal as a home service, instead of filtering content? Fixes the problem, while retaining freedom.

And no, Internet connection is not a right.
>>
>>80681835
/pol/ is a beacon of truth amidst the filth. Even if it's not moral, it is a supremely necessary counter to the sort of leftist dogma that dominates modern discourse.
>>80681960
Yeah - humanity might fall if they were denied their social media, pornography, and YouTube.
>>
>>80682117
What do you think about supporting the feminist/leftist efforts to censor the net, just to establish a precedent that a future right government could use better?

If you notice it's often /pol/ types and "anti-feminists" who support porn the strongest, while sex-negative feminists are better allies.
>>
>>80681647

It's the idiotic mindset, not the issue.

They're so close to winning, then they pull stupid shit like this.

Every fucking time.

They either rally around the loony fringe or the bribe makers.

Never the average Republican who just wants smaller government and more liberty.

Fuck all of you, even the Libertarian wackos. Seems to me we've forgotten how shitty the world was before the Enlightenment, so yeah, let's get a good taste again so we can remember what's really important.
>>
>>80680378
are you fucking retarded
>>
>>80681451
Conservatives have been consistently losing the culture war for 30+ years. This is simply not a fight conservatives can win in open battle.

The only way to restore American culture is to restore the things on which American culture have depended. You can't force people to be invested in society, you need to entice them, to convince them that your lifestyle and your way of thinking brings with it the things that they want - good honest jobs that can support a family, affordable homes in safe cities where people can raise kids. Give people reasons to want to defend their culture and they will do it on their own.

Idiots. Evangelicals and neo-cons are why I used to vote Democrat, I pray Trump can finally cleanse these retards from the ranks when he takes over the Republicans.
>>

Not really. America is a spiritual wasteland of godlessness, perversion, and demographic collapse. It's effectively dead.
>>

And they wonder why people voted for trump over the usual republicans they barf out every 4 years
>>

it was dead even in the 50's, they just didn't know it yet. Really the West has been dead since the Industrial Revolution became widespread.

the Amish are in a way some of the only truly "living" people left in the US
>>
Mixed feelings. In terms of the social issues I feel like they have the right idea, but that they fuck themselves again and again with the wording and by being so tied to the evangelicals, which makes me worry that they would over react and legislate too far in the other direction if given the chance

I honestly think that gay marriage is a lost fight, and rightfully so IMO. BUT they are right to push about how it's been legislated, and I agree with their overarching emphasis on the family unit, and on private businesses being able to refuse customers (I personally have no problem with this unless the businesses are dicks about it).

They need to drop the LGB part of their LGBT fight. The T is the danger. The T includes life changing physical treatments as opposed to just lifestyle choices. I feel that they should have pushed to increase the barriers for treatment (via needing more counselling etc) instead of what they did say.

Pornography they are also correct, but the language is far too combative and doesn't focus on the potential consequences of inaction. The language issues are pervasive. The GOP does themselves absolutely no favours. They seem to try to stir up fiery support from their base instead of trying to appear concerned and empathetic with the individuals that would be affect by the consequences of not changing course.

Do they not completely understand the issues they are dealing with, and are instead merely issuing stances from their gut (evangelical) feelings?

They make it so damned hard to like conservatives.
>>
To the people saying the internet should be banned, do you think we would still be able to fight the left's almost absolute control of the media and the narrative without the internet?
>>
>>80684980
it wouldn't be nearly as pervasive without the Internet existing in the first place.

I'd probably vote in favor of the special snowflake side depending on the language just to give the finger to the gubment.
