If you want a good midwestern state with reasonable conservative values and a good economy, Ohio (can't believe I'm saying this) isn't so bad.
Utah is fun and beautiful but anything out west is deceivingly expansive. It takes forever to get anywhere.
The south is undeniably beautiful, but the climate would kill a northener like me.
The northeast is a winner in all respects but the liberal values, Maine is great.
If you want it cold, go to Alaska, if you want it fun go to Washington or Oregon, if you want to have lots of room and cheap places to live, the west like Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming.
Don't go to florida. Oklahoma is pointless, nebraska has surprisingly nice towns that make you feel like you're safe and sound, Iowa, don't go, the people are nice but once you get to know them, there isn't much depth and they are just kinda strange.
Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, are all pretty similar but I don't you'd understand or get along with the locals, or even more urban people.
Texas is amazing, but hot.

Utah is incredible. It's beautiful, cheap to live in, and truly America's heartland. Mormons are great people who are usually very tolerant, and it's one of the fittest states in this nation. There are tons of young women, and they're all very beautiful and family-oriented. Even the liberals in Utah will typically support the 2nd amendment and are often far more patriotic than "right wingers" in other states, like Cali.
Best state in the nation I've visited thus far. Lots of cheap land, as well. Salt Lake City is a world destination, and there's lots of quirky religious history in the place.

I'd say Raleigh North Carolina. If you're looking to go into any medical or tech field this is by far the best spot in the country. You have Duke, Chapel Hill, East Carolina, and NC State uni right next door as college choices. Job choices include HP, Google. Facebook, IBM, Red Hat, Net App, Lenovo, Cisco, Time Warner, Duke hospital (best cancer program in the world), any type of architecture, Duke energy (nuclear engineering), etc. Only place that comes close to opportunity is maybe commiefornia but that place is a liberal shit hole. Raleigh is basically the newer version of silicone valley. Gun laws here are based and is a Republican majority state. We also have the biggest military base in the world (fort Bragg) so that's pretty based if you wanna find some military bros. The nature and weather here is also based as fuck. We have mountians, plains, dessert, swamps, beaches, outer banks, and the sounds inside the outer banks. The weather never goes above 105F and never below 25F, average day is in high 70's to low 80's. We do get the occasional snow storm, tornado, hurricane, and small earthquake but there all extremely rare to be anything serious.
