Otherwise my favorite states and the ones I think have the most interesting American cultures are Texas, Florida, North Carolina and Ohio. Florida, as long as you stay away from Miami or the college towns it can be a great place to live. Ohio is the birthplace of nearly every great American invention. North Carolina is the based Carolina, and Texas is Texas.

Oklahoma is best for storm chasing. All of the gulf of Mexico states get ample rain. The main thing you need to look out for is humidity. Try to avoid living in major cities with tons of concrete as the precipitation hits that and turns to haze. Arizona, on the other hand, gets hotter, but they don't get much rain so you don't have to deal with humidity as much.

People area really quite nice in Eastern Washington and the crime is low. The only real issue with the people are the Mexicans but they mostly keep to themselves.
Weather usually ranges from 20-100F. It doesn't rain a ton here because we are on the other side of a mountain range from the Pacific but it's better than living in liberal cuck hell Western Washington.
Florida is the promised land. Great weather, hottest girls in the country, and all the benefits of a southern state minus the dindus.
Northern California, NYC and Boston are also great if you can afford it.
Colorado is also great if you like snow and weed.
Everywhere else is an area that people are trying to escape from.

Moving from California to New Mexico to be closer to family. Being there almost my entire life, it's a great state. Beautiful landmarks, a lot of friendly people, and gun laws aren't strict at all. South to the middle is dry heat with monsoon seasons (It rains pretty often in the Summer) then snows in the Winter. Up north its very rocky area where it's mostly cool weather. Standard of living is pretty great with 8 dollars the minimum wage but often find jobs pay higher. If you plan on getting a job regarding the media, movies, or oil. It's really easy to get in. I plan on becoming a police officer in ABQ after attending college. Another plus is that black people is the rarest thing ever. I have probably seen around 5 in my life.

Rural West, Midwest, North, and Northeast are white. Rural South is black because of historical reasons that should be obvious. Louisiana in particular has the second-highest black demographics in the country. Louisiana is a very weird state with a very weird history. It's a great place to visit (especially if you spend most of the time in New Orleans), but from experience, I would definitely recommend against living there. Not only do you have to deal with the blacks, but there are about 5 different variations of locals, all of which hate outsiders (by which I mean anyone whose family hasn't been in Louisiana for 150 years).

I also like rainy temperatures, I went on holiday to the US when I was a young guy and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I went to San Fransisco, New York and Las Vegas (money from an inheritance supported).
I loved Las Vegas, or 'Paradise' as I think it's called and I think I'd fit right at home with the heavy commercialism and the sleaze, I would love to write there and become a barfly.
However, in England we have pretty tame insects and because I am incredibly arachnophobic, would this be an issue, where is the least aggressive area for spiders. I heard Vegas has black widows, but the box brown spiders and the big ones are stuff that would make me have a panic attack. It sounds ridiculous I know but anyway I'd appreciate the advice.

AZ is not too bad. Be prepared to be feeling the fires of hell cause it's fucking hot in Arizona. 35c at night right now with 40c days. The fall and winter months cool down a bit but it's always sunny. We do get monsoons from time to time but that shit can be sporadic. The gun laws are god tier and you can buy nearly anything if you got the cash and the licenses. Even body armor if they haven't changed it in Arizona.
If you want rain and not all desert in your vicinity look into Flagstaff and Prescott. There we got some great forests and all year hunting.

Summers are pretty hot with little to moderate rain. It's usually 80-95 degrees out during most of the season, not quite as hot as the rest of the country. Spring is rainy but warm.

Look for a house out in the suburbs of a small-ish city, but in driving distance of a larger city. I recommend looking for townships, outside of city limits. Unless you live in the Miami area or the Keys then sort of. Florida has a very low cost of living, a 6% state sales tax and no state income tax at all. However, minimum wage is $8.05/h and there aren't a ton of jobs.
We are one of the few states who manages to stay within its annual budget though. It's a pretty neat place to live if you don't mind the heat and humidity. We have tons of crystal clear, always 72 degrees F, freshwater springs which are awesome and plenty of other outdoors things to do. I live in Texas now, its pretty good but its fucking hot and theres tons of nothing land. The big cities are nice but crowded. Tyler and medium cities like that are nice, but the heat still kills me. 100f every day starting in June and ending in october.
I was born and raised in Colorado and I firmly believe its the best state in the USA. Its snows, but its not awful in the foothills and east of the mountains. Its getting more expensive around Denver because so many people are moving there for the scenery, really nice and clean cities, a growing tech hub and of course the dude weed. It was still very very nice before then, now the revenue is going towards better schools, infrastructure and other nice amenities.
Washington, Oregon and parts of California are nice too. New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine are very white states with nice scenery, but brutal winters. Can't tell you about gun laws there, probably not that bad.
Don't move to the midwest or the south (outside of Texas). Its pretty trashy. Most of the east coast is trash too unless you're rich and can live in the cities like New York City or Boston.
