The country is held together by an authoritarian government and no other party is unelectable. Even though this sounds like hell, it is very reasonable considering the position of early Singapore. Singapore is successful because it is in a geographically important area of the world. It is successful because it has embraced a liberal capitalist economy. It is lastly successful because it has an extremely educated population.
This is true despite the fact that they have a multiracial society as it is an authoritarian regime. Not even Singaporean Chinese can act out. Everyone is equal under Singaporean law and Singaporean law is extremely harsh for those who wish to undermine the stability and survival of Singapore.
