When you go to war to prevent one nation from falling to communism and they do exactly that, then you fucking lost. Just accept it.

Nobody wins a war that has no goal but killing.

Vietnam is doing okay today so at the very least that's good. We didn't completely fuck them into the Stone Age.

Not really, but America and Vietnam get along now so it's pretty much water under the bridge.

People like to say Vietnam won. But the strategy of the United States was to contain communism, which it accomplished.

Go down any major street in Vietnam today and what do you see? You see American brands and advertisement everywhere.

The goal wasn't just killing you mongoloid.

And if it was there would be a clear winner.

Vietnam did not win the war. The DRV, aka, North Vietnam, won the war, by conquering South Vietnam.
>>
>>80614157
>Nobody wins a war that has no goal but killing.
I sometimes shudder at the level of American education. I mean being ignorant of other countries is fine, but being ignorant of your own history which happened 40 years ago shows a breathtaking level of brainwashing.

The Vietnam war was not started by the USA. Vietnam was at the time, like Korea, divided into North Vietnam which was a communist shithole, and South Vietnam which was a promising capitalist outpost. North Vietnam initiated the war when it decided to "liberate" the "oppressed" people of South Vietnam, the South Vietnamese pleaded the US government to come and help them out and the US government obliged, because this was the cold war and stopping communism from spreading was a priority.

The USA actually WON the Vietnam war. Nixon signed the Paris Accords which agreed for a CEASEFIRE, and the recognition of South Vietnam by North Vietnam as an independant country. But then the judeo-bolshevik media blew out of proportion the watergate """scandal""", forcing Nixon to resign. He was succeeded by weak cuck Gerald Ford and mega weak super cuck Jimmy "I'm a homo" Carter.

North Vietnam then attacked South Vietnam A SECOND TIME, VIOLATING THE CEASE FIRE. But little Jimmy was too cucked to do anything about it. He let them invade. And South Vietnam failed, to the wild indifference of the anti war movement who got bored and moved to something else.
>>
>>80614784
You'd be surprised. They have a very high opinion of the US, especially when you compare it to other countries.

Basking in reflected glory (BIRGing) is a self-serving cognition whereby an individual associates themselves with known successful others such that the winner's success becomes the individual's own accomplishment. The affiliation of another’s success is enough to stimulate self glory. The individual does not need to be personally involved in the successful action. To BIRG, they must simply associate themselves with the success.

The American propaganda machine has been rolling since the 70s, every elementary and high school teacher is a liberal, taught by liberal hippies, that the US lost. The American education system has a huge left bias, and people tend not to do their own research

If there is the one thing they teach truth - is that USoNA was decisively defeated by butt-naked asians, armed with superior Russian technology by soviets.

The gooks were never really the problem. It was the KGB handled subversive agents you infested our country with that lost us the war.

We were mowing down gooks like they were nothing. But your agitators riled up the niggers and drugged the hippies to subvert our war effort.

It's been that way here ever since you fuckers went commie.

What do you think our objective was in Vietnam? Do you think we were doing it because we truly cared about the rights of Vietnamese? You're missing the bigger picture.

>>80617005
I see them shifting to capitalism more now than ever. We didn't see China as a rival back then.

>>80616874
I agree. I remember my history classes in school. They were very anti-American, anti-nationalist, and anti-war. Even early history was focused on the evils of slavery and how manifest destiny hurt the poor native peoples.

Oh, you.

Don't flatter yourself. We collapsed by our own. The US had very indirect influence at this process. Socialistic economy finally took the death toll. It be correct to say that ussr didn't collapse but suffered bankruptcy. Your real merit - you just have survived to this moment, withstanded all commy's conspiracy and still law and democracy state yet.

The Jews did, just like every other war they have tricked the Goy into. They made unbelievable profits from both sides then even more afterwards with the influx of Vietnamese refugees into the US.

The US because Vietnam isn't a communist state anymore and they love America Te more time goes by. I also love Vietnamese people back since they get more and more based as time goes by.

USA was ineffective, because AR-15 and american frontline personell training sucks dirty nigger ass. So burger military has to count on airstrikes (and this continues up to this day).

But you cant have aistrikes, if there are Russian AA-weapons deployed. And you cant have airstikes, if China does not allow your ships near the vietnam shores, so you have only a couple of minutes of fuel to bomb anything and have to fly back if you want to land safe.

>>80617953
> muh kgb
If you was defeated by retarded methods of KGB propaganda, it`s even worse.

> We were mowing down gooks like they were nothing.
Yeah, right. With heavy casualties happening all by themselves.
Because your infantry is shit.
Your technology cant suppress Russian AAW, operated by quicky-trained vets.
And your aircrafts of the time could not have enough fuel to bomb vets. So since then all your planes are developed to have more fuel, rather than to have better speed/payload/precision/shelf life. Even stealth is developed trough the idea, that you would not need the fast speed and good turning angles to fly around enemies, so you can fly an optimal engine regime, thus conserving the fuel.

Was your aircraft department traumatized by KGB propaganda?

> We really should have nuked you.
We need to do it right now, because you infringed the last negotiated peace treaty with Russia in 2012. Putin is too soft on north-americans. This is bad. We already had been too soft in 1917, we need to do something about it right now.

The conflict in Vietnam is pretty iconic for changing the goalposts on its "victory" condition.
First it was the US acting as France's bitch to keep control over its old colonial territories. This transformed into preventing northern communist influence from subverting the South, which is a benchmark that cannot be accomplished by physical engagement.
The US then rationalized the conflict in terms of an experiment; how does military engagement affect commercial production AND can this be used to isolate specific lines of trade. This expanded into R&D and reinforced bombing campaigns in the North, South, Laos, and Cambodia.
After the military chain of command realized there were 0 actual victory conditions, they belied orders and kept ground engagement to a minimum. Without quantifiable progress, and no real incursion northward, all attempts at physical containment of Communism were held in stasis. The bombing campaigns in Southern Vietnam, combined with the post-Diem cascade of civil conflict, led toward inevitable failure and the dissolution of US military support for the conflict.
Any future ingress in Asia had already been achieved via triangular control of Thailand, Taiwan, and Japan. The only thing left to "win" was a sliver of coastline and the waterway to Kadena. Civilian chain of command is pressed by the military to orchestrate an inevitable retreat, the South "falls" to Communism as had already been determined a decade prior, and the US shifts focus back to the ME.
So any consensus regarding whomever "won" the Vietnam war is, in effect, proof that morons like you still exist at the behest of their betters.
