I am very much pro-nationalism. But when it comes to economics, I think we need to have the free market, but then a progressive taxation system based on consumption taxes AND taxes on property AND taxes on dividends and capital gains. I think it is paramount that we fund investments into society, including education, fighting crime and making sure everyone has available affordable housing and can find a job.
What does this make me? A socialist? I don't think so, I want a free market, an unregulated free market. I also want free trade (I am pro CETA, pro TTIP, pro TPP, pro NAFTA, pro EEA)

Socialism, or more like the french "third way" in practice which was made by De Gaulle as an answer to capitalism and communism, believed that you could get the best of both world by taking some means of production so as to justly invest in needed fields (e.g. research, societal education, ...) and make society advance.

We in Croatia have two major parties, one is SDP.
Social-democratic party who are against free market and they are for Nordic model of economy.
Second is HDZ.
They claim that they are a right-wing, nationalist party, but they are actually even more left than SDP, their main economical strategist Goran Marić is a Marxist and is strongly against neo-liberal principles.
Let's say that they are actually national-socialist party.
SDP was in power from 2000.-2003.
Paradoxaicaly they've cut taxes, cutted buerocration, privatizated a lot of companies, privatizated banks.
Croatia had a GDP growth of 5 % per year in that time.
HDZ, national-socialst party came in power in 2004.
In 2004. Croatia had a higher GDP per capita than Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic,
HDZ raised taxes, trippled the buerocracy, gave enorumous social rights, gave enormous subventions and pension, inflated the country budget and elevated the national debt.
In 2011. SDP came in power again but they've kept that idiotic socialist HDZ politics.
The results is that Croatia is the poorest country in the EU after fucking Bulgaria.
Socialism is shit. National-socialism is even bigger shit.
