To be honest, most of this state is garbage, especially anything around montgomery and south of it outside of a few areas in mobile or a beach community if thats your thing.

There's a lot of well-educated, rich non-thinking people around there. People who are incredible professionals in their fields (everyone has post-grad degrees) but otherwise dumb and coddled.
Overall a good place to raise a family if you can afford it. Great schools, shopping, infrastructure, near DC and its history and museums.
I probably won't move back there. Makes me feel a bit weird and claustrophobic when I go back. The traffic is also fucking terrible.
