I'll share a little story with you. I'm a cop, and one of the ONLY times I ever thought I was gonna have to shoot a motherfucker was some Black dude at an apartment complex I was working as an extra job. I drove in and I saw him parked up front outside of the gate, I didn't think much about it. I made my rounds through the complex and when I made my way back to the front I saw him walking around between the buildings.
Now they had a string of robberies and purse snatching at this complex (a shithole, it's why I was working it), so I thought I'd ask him what the hell he was doing there. He sees me walking toward him so he starts walking back to his car. I walk faster to catch up to him. I see him look over his shoulder to look at where I am while he's still walking forward, and put his right hand on his waistband, under his shirt. I naturally put my hand on my gun, because what the fuck would YOU think he's doing?
I say, "hey man, do you live here?" He stops abruptly and takes on his hardest tone of voice and says, "naw maaaan but what the FUCK you following me for? And why you got yo hand on yo gun?" I tell him, "because I don't fucking know you and I don't know what you're doing here", as I undo the hood on my holster and release the retention clip so I can draw as quickly as possible if I need to.
So we're standing in the driveway staring at each other a couple seconds when a car pulls in, and we have to step out of the way to let them through. Then he breaks down crying, talking about how some girl he met online lived there and they went on a date and they got in a fight and she took his keys and went back to her apartment and she's not answering her phone and he doesn't know how to get home or what the fuck to do. I told him that sucks, he let me pat him down and we went our separate ways. Dangerous = respect to Blacks.
