What are the best serious arguments for Dictatorship as a form of government?
>>
it gets things done
>>
No elections
>>
Pro - Efficiency of legislation and action

Con - It's a fucking dictatorship.
>>
>>80383795
Ghadaffi was a commie

fuck off
>>
>>80384048
No he wasn't. He was an Islamic social nationalist. Communism was outlawed under his government. But this thread isn't about Gaddafi anyway, it's about dictatorship in general, and dictatorship as a legitimate political theory in particular.

>What are the best serious arguments for Dictatorship as a form of government?

Its easy.
Dictators dont exist.
They are Kings or Presidents for real
If they are the Globalists Bitches then they get called King or President.
If not: Dictator.

Enlightened rulers with absolute power could do much more than a democracy with the best minds of the world.

See Franco in Spain, after his death Spain has done nothing but plummet into the ground when it once had a very good economy and was developing at a good pace. Under democracy it has become a marxist influenced shithole that Franco sought to prevent in the first place.

Also Pinochet in Chile, while Brazil's military dictatorship was, under the guise of anti-communism, creating the most communistic government in Brazil's history, in Chile Pinochet was enacting free market policies that now set Chile apart from the rest of South America as the fastest developing nation and highest HDI in the americas, after only USA and Canada.

Representative democracies tend to degenerate into socialism sooner or later, but if the dictator is a stupid shit you end up with Cuba and North Korea.

So, it really depends on who has absolute power, if the person is great, the country will follow suit. If the person is shit, the country will go down to hell.

True dat

This. It's quicker to get things done. Democracy has argument over decisions.

If Legend of the Galactic Heroes taught me anything it's that
+A dictatorship under a stern and wise ruler is probably one of the best and most efficient forms of governance
+Fantastic at rooting out genuine spies and saboteurs
-No promise that the successor will carry on the legacy
-Very likely country will go to shit once the ruler dies

Pros:
- absolute rule
- can quell dissent and protest
- can pass whatever law you like without opposition. If you wanna round up all the degenerates and execute them you can.
- easily rig elections
- invade who you want, ally with who you want

Cons

- have fun getting other nations to trade with you
- the NWO will be all over you for not towing the line
- you'll probably be invaded because 'muh oppressed peoples, muh liberation from da raygeem'
- you will never be considered a first world nation

It is the best type of government, but it is also the worst. The trick is to get the right dictator.

Because otherwise your people constantly chimp out.

imagine if the internet/computer technical permission structure was democratic and not dictator-like. you have admins and users, and the rules are law. if you dont like it you get banned or go somewhere else.
if it was democratic the internet would go to shit
same for actualy countries i guess, although finding a good leader is hard. admins are usually more or less dedicated to the things they do. dictators usually get sick of it, and start fucking shit up eventually

Kings are needed. You can't let peasants decide everything. I don't know why really but I would really follow a king right now. Someone who really WANTS to better mankind or just my country. Someone who does what he wants to do to make things better instead of listening to everyone's opinions. Kinda like a game developer.

As a military dictatorship:
>It's safer for good citizens
>Has long run objectives
>Doesn't need permission of jews to make things done
>Doesn't care about stupid people's opinion
>Gommies have free helicopter fly
>>
>>80386287
But what happens when the dictator dies? What will ensure that you will get another good dictator?
>>
>>80383795
Republicans will be rounded up and shot in the back of the head and we can all live in a glorious communist utopia
>>
>>80386026
I think you leave out the worst con which was also the big problem with the soviets.

Centralized power is not very scalable.

The more factories, farms and people there are under central control the harder it is to extract value and progress from them.

A more decentralized system like in the western democracies thrives on growth and so delivers more value to it's citizens more efficiently.
>>
>>80389410
A dictatorship can still have a far reaching bureaucracy
>>
>>80388737
The dictator doesn't need to be perpetual, the elite can still elect dictators very often.
>>
>>80389637
The problem may be fixable but it's still a big problem if you want to have a flourishing country under a dictator with a focus on maintaining control.

>>80383795

It won't degenerate into a permanent election.

Democracy is nothing but disguised plutocracy.
>>
Pro - Can be more efficient in terms of action and cut through the red tape of bureacracy
Prevents the dumbass mob mentality that democracy can enable
Depending on the circumstances, can give a singular figurehead for the nation to rally behind, particularly in times of crisis

Con - No guarantee that a dictator or their subordinates or successors will be competent or benevolent enough to act for the purpose of the greater good
Good chance that the dictator or their successors or their subordinates will ultimately choose their own self interests over the interests of the state
Can potentially cause discontent in working classes
