Does /pol/ like conservatives better than Libs?
>>
The F-35 program is worth spending money on though.
>>
>>80382333
Can I have source on the Wall street bailout?
please
>>
That f-35 program is over the life of the program. We subsidize big oil so people don't pay 9 dollars a gallon for gas. We bailed out wall street so our economy doesn't fall apart, though that number seems kinda high. We have all the stuff at the top, most of it is just privatized.
>>
Hillary is one of the ones responsible for this spending.
>>
>>80382333
Things we "can afford"

>$10,000,000 to Israel every day.
>>
>>80382333
F35 and Big oil subsidies are fine, we can't afford feeding the poor or ((((Education))))

The reason college loans are good is because it gives people reason to work hard after getting their degree, we just need to get the government out of the loan business and let the free market get the interest rates down.
>>
>>80382333
How the fuck did liberals create the narrative that only "conservatives" went to war?
>>
>>80382333
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_United_States_federal_budget
Top spending is not war, you're speding a lot of money on healthcare, social services, 'medicare', etc.

As you can see the conservative proposals would sligthly lower some of those, idk if more than 10%.

As for the question, cons > libs, neither fully represents my views.
>>
>>80382333
Forgot foreign aid at the bottom.
>>
>>80382333
Neo-Cons no

Paleo-Cons yes

I'm a non-interventionalist in both foreign affairs as well as economic affairs. Keep the government from stepping on my shoes and giving me and my children a bill and we're square.
>>
>>80382333
Wow let's just give more money to the state solve all our problems, we already know how responsible it is when it has some. Let the state think instead of me, I cannot make decisions on my own.

You are an child both in your mind and in your soul if you believe shilling for the state will solve your problems. The state is the cancer that disables you to do any of the "can't afford" stuff by imposing ridiculous amounts of taxes, setting laws against your freedom of whatever you wish to do, and basically subsidizing super companies.

Nothing wrong with F35 and implying that a war is something you should cheap out on is disgusting, bank bail outs on the other hand were a farce.

>Renewable energy
Why not just fucking burn the money?
>Feeding the poor
Feeding the poor has led a yyyyuge African baby boom and now they will never be able to sustain them selves without gibs me dats unless there is a mass culling. Bravo leftist.

I agree with the rest though.

America can afford clean environment and feeding the poor. America has some of the best environmental protection in the world, and our food stamp program has been a success.

>We subsidize big oil so people don't pay 9 dollars a gallon for gas.
Aren't those in tax subsidies on the income of the oil companies? If that were the case, it wouldn't affect prices at all.

>We bailed out wall street so our economy doesn't fall apart, though that number seems kinda high.
It wasn't necessary, and that number is insane. Off by a factor of ten at least.

That's why /pol/ is filled with knuckle dragging retards that vote against their own economic interests

Do you mean gibs?
>>
>>80386766
Again, most of /pol/ would not be in favor of those subsidies, the wars, etc. This is a shit list. If you put the total spending by the military, that would be more convincing, as there are conservatives who think that should increase, while most people think it's too high.

>>Renewable energy
>Why not just fucking burn the money?
It's not always a waste, its a waste when Obama uses it as an excuse to funnel taxpayer money to his corporate friends in "green energy". That money could be spent to subsidize nuclear R&D than subsidizing solar panels which will never be viable in a free market, without subsidy. Instead, Obama does the predictable boondoggle shit, reimbursing his campaign donors.
>>
>>80382333
It's pretty simple actually. The things I dislike about liberals are more important to me than the things I dislike about conservatives.
>>
>>80387590
Only if you count entitlements for old people like social security.

Food stamps are like .01% of the budget.
>>
>>80387851
Also Trump wants to spend money on many of the things considered to be "liberal", like infrastructure. By the way, when have liberals actually done anything for infrastructure, since FDR? Trump transcends partisanship, he just wants the best decisions made for the country, regardless of which camp it falls into.
>>
>>80387090
The interest on the debt is surprisingly low.
>>
>>80382333
free healthcare alone would cost all that combined
>>
>>80388000
Don't get me wrong, there is plenty of graft in military spending too, which is what the entire F-35 project was. It's just what happens when you have corrupt corporate owned politicians running things. There is a lot of money wasted/grafted outside of entitlements too. Just look at how much EPA officials are paid, 6 figures and they can't ever be fired. That's a huge waste problem.
>>
>we cant afford healthcare
>over 50% of our budget is healthcare and social security

As far as graft goes, a good half of the Stimulus Bill was money that went to Obama's corporate cronies. Remember the "shovel ready jobs"?

americans have the option to buy health insurance if they want to. already better than here in europistan where its not an option but a state-enforced obligation.

implying america has no roads or electricity? what even is this nonsense?

yeah good luck getting that to work in your nignog cities lmao

all the top universities are in america. everybody who wants the best of the best education moves to america from all over the world.

>renewable energy
fucking waste of money for the sake of emotional feelgood shit. if you want to be efficient and effective you build nuclear plants instead of hippie power.

>bank bailouts
questionable. i would have preferred the banks to go bankrupt, i do not like the state bailing out anyone. but 13 trillion doesnt sound like a very believable number.

serve americas geostrategic interests i think. but i dont know the details and im not an expert in the field though, so i dont really have an opinion.

>>80382924
Student loans work just fine, the problem is colleges lowering their acceptance standards/high schools inflating their scores so any idiot can get in.

People go get a useless degree and drink every night and don't pay any attention to the field, then can't hold a job when they get out, so work at McDonalds and live at home while paying denbts.

Some people say we need less people in college, but given the number of jobs that will increasingly require education that's not really an optimal solution.

Best option is having a less permissive society, that places more responsibility on kids (including teenagers) to work hard and learn new skills, and stay away from vices like excessive drinking or weed. Worked out pretty good for me, currently a junior in Mechanical Engineering at a good school, and have certifications/work experience that will allow me to get a good job in other fields if the economy goes down the drain.

>science only makes up one percent of the US budget but we still lead the world in scientific discovery

Imagine if we put as much funding in science as we did medicare or social security
>>
>>80388491
Because they gave money to the campaigns of various politicians who control where the subsidy money goes. It's even more retarded to give solar panel companies subsidies though, since solar panels are objectively inferior in every way to fossil fuels, even in carbon footprint. At least oil is a viable product that people want. These solar panels companies ONLY can survive because they are subsidized, and many go bankrupt and the subsidy/grants disappear into the wind and Obama goes "lol oh well, its not my money!".

Under the current administration?

We would have laboratories full of dindus developing more ergonomic EBT cards
>>
>>80389431
Most of the problems in your post can be solved by decentralizing education and getting the government out of the student debt business.
>>
>>80389433
>>science only makes up one percent of the US budget but we still lead the world in scientific discovery
That's because of the free market and the innovations that are developed by necessity to remain competitive. This country's innovative drive has always been powered by competition.

>decentralizing education

Do you mean stopping state/federal grants and tax breaks to colleges?

I agree in that it would stop the apefirmative action bullshit, but doesn't solve the underlying problem of people going to college who aren't prepared to do well.

>getting the government out of the student loan business

The federal government probably loses a ton of money on loans, a private solution would raise costs for students.

You're right, raising costs does serve as a disincentive to underqualified students, but a better solution would be colleges raising their admission standards to account for grade inflation, and/or relying more on standardized testing which ensures uniformity across schools.

This would hopefully spur a change in culture at the teenage level, towards hard work and learning and away from degeneracy, solving the underlying problem.

What a shame, you don't get to spend 0,30€ per KwH energy, of which 50% goes into subsidiaries for solar and wind parks.
