It is time the USA understands that its Military and its Government are not the same thing, and they can work independently of one another.
In Brazil, the military HAS taken power in the past to defend the people from communism for example. And the military has refused to act during times of strife even under direct orders of the presidency.
The people rising up against the government will not be stopped by the military. They wont do shit if the entire country is out on the streets and starting a fucking civil war because the united states remains a democracy and that is valued above all else by the military.
The moment tyranny appears, the military cannot stand behind it because it is sworn to protecting the country, its constitution and its national integrity.
If it came to it, politicians would be dragged onto the streets and shot against walls and the military would not leave their fucking asses for anything util a righteous moment surged.

The military knows that politicians hold no real power. The men with the very existence of the country in their hands are the military. And they are also, the biggest patriots.
