We are attempting to develope further nuclear defense projects, the problem is the sheer amount of warheads that the Russians posses, it would be nearly impossible to stop them all even worth a highly advanced defense system. Not to mention even one bomb landing could kill tens of millions of people if dropped in the right spot.
