Yes, because 95% of the people in bio want to be doctors but like <5% will make it. So the rest will just graduate with a useless degree that might get them some crappy lab tech job somewhere or go into academia. The rest will have to live off of social security and maybe go get another degree increasing their already vast student debt. These people really contribute little to society on the whole with some exceptions (doctors and academics).
