You fucks convinced my mentally ill friend the holocaust never happened, and now he keeps going on about it. It's illegal here to do that and I'm really worried something is going to happen to him.

I don't even care about the truth, I just want my friend to be safe.

After WW2 there was an enormous amount of anti-nazi propganda. This included:
- the gass chamber
- mass starvation
- making jews into soap and lampshades
- jews being masturbated to death by machiens
- peddle driven brainsmashers
- mass shooting of jews

The brain smasher, masturbation machines, soap jews and lamshades made out of jews went away from the common narrative pretty quickly, though some people still believe this non-sense

The gas chambers do not make any sense either. The mass starvation and mass shootings happened though, for example the Babi Yarr massacre
>>
>>80078817

no, it's the truth. maybe you don't understand what suppression means.

you'll be shouted at by other users but your opinion will remain 100% visible. people aren't obligated to agree with you though, you will get lots of memers and people may not take you seriously, but any attention you get will actually result in your post getting more visibility, not less.

compare that to other popular political forums which invariably ban for offensive viewpoints or implement an upvote/downvote system that effectively hides unpopular viewpoints.

this really is a free market of ideas. the only content that can't be posted is content that is irrelevant to the board's topic (which is incredibly broad) or material that violates US law.

While the Holocaust narrative is in many ways false, it's no usefull to focus on. It will be forgotten in a couple of years and jews hated for their role in flooding white nation with non-whites. In looking forward to the backlash against jews.

Best of luck to your friend, if he's going full 1488 he probably does have some issues. Being aware of the many lies about history and being racially conscious isn't bad though, he simply needs to remember to still be a good person and to not let differences shape how he treats people. He can support legislation to remove a people, but he shouldn't treat said people individually as lesser.
Tell him if he wants to hold those positions he needs to know the evidence and debate material to be able to defend it at all times and as well, to not spout it willy nilly if he hopes to function in society. There's a time and place for everything.
Perhaps convince him of a middle of the road position, eg 'I don't know what happened, but many if not most of the claims are undeniably false. I would say that there were many executed, but just as many died from disease (primarily cholera) and starvation due to the destruction of supply lines. So, we cannot know due to popular history obfuscating the issue and genuine racists attempting to deny everything, but we should as a society be able to debate and question these matters openly and freely"
So, spin it as not knowing entirely, but mainly just supporting the rights of free speech to debate and question.

By the nature of how 4chan functions, the way others respond to you is directly tied to how visible your platform is.
This is all pretty basic. I'm not sure why you all are getting so upset. I don't particularly care whatever your opinions are on any particular subject. More power to you.
But if one of those subjects is "political discussion" and your opinion on that subject is "/pol/ is the most open and honest place for political discussion" you should know that your opinion is objectively wrong and your a moron for even entertaining the thought.

>By the nature of how 4chan functions, the way others respond to you is directly tied to how visible your platform is.

This is true, but only insofar as being more persistent or more skilled at baiting people will result in more replies which results in more visibility.

>"/pol/ is the most open and honest place for political discussion"

as far as large scale political forums are concerned, it absolutely is. unless you'd care to list some other contenders? there's no forum anywhere to my knowledge with anywhere comparable levels of accessibility and relevance that is as open to such a wide range of opinion as /pol/

I'm not saying this is the best place to have a serious discussion, but the problems that exist are not due to any kind of lack of openness or tolerance, just due to lack of suitably intelligent or knowledgeable people to argue with.
>>
>>80091724

Well, /pol/ opinions are pretty much the opposite ones of "libruls", and are a little contrairian sometimes

>/pol/ does not want a police state and wants personal freedom

>just due to lack of suitably intelligent or knowledgeable people to argue with.

>>
>>80093150
For sure you could do worse than /pol/. Let's just not drink too much of our own koolaid.
I'm not convinced that "large scale" and "intelligent or knowledgeable" are compatible. Your best bet is probably a *chan spin-off that no one has heard of. Only for a short time though. Assuming you find such a place it will only be a matter of time until it grows too large and the average user is /pol/ levels of retarded, or it shrinks to be the private club of an in-group cliche.
>>
>>80096002
Expulsion of Jews from Europe and into Zion
>>
>>80095866

I won't disagree that there are prevailing opinions among a large portion of vocal users of this board. Nor will I say that people are any smarter here than anywhere else. But /pol/ does not suppress any views from being posted here, and for an open forum like this it's a unique policy. It's this tolerance that attracts Neo-Nazis and the like, which in turn results in warped and incorrect opinion that /pol/ is itself a "Neo-Nazi board" which won't tolerate dissent.

>>80096490

Again. Not saying this is the best place for a good discussion. But for all the accusations you could correctly lay at /pol/'s feet, suppression or lack of openness are categorically not among them.

3) We support free speech. It's free speech to tell you that your opinion is retarded. We don't go crying for laws against your opinion, though.

>>
>>80078817
People disagreeing with your post, even in a memetic way, is perfectly fine. In fact your statement is paradoxically hypocritical, if we were to follow your advice to its conclusion.
The main thing that makes /pol/ a bastion of free speech is that you will not be simply banned for having an opposing view. In fact, just look at the catalog, half the threads are blatant b8, trolling, and shitposting of the opposite /pol/ view, and yet they are not bait. Even shitposting the majority view as a troll is not banned.

Just wanna set something straight here.

If you don't get "triggered" by anything, you probably don't actually care about anything to begin with.
The people who get triggered do so because they are trying to stand for something, some things more worthy than others.
Calling someone out on being triggered just shows you either have nothing more to actually say or that you're just shitposting.
Try to refrain from that if you're taking your own argument seriously.

>>80097046
The lack of openness is not directly due to policy, but by self censorship inspired by the dominant culture. Likewise, dissent isn't suppressed through executive power, but by the democratic nature of how visibility works on 4chan.

Note that I am not calling for these things to be changed or fixed, just pointing out that they exist as a natural consequence of human nature, 4chan mechanics, and the power of memes.

You are doing this ironically too right?

This place is an echo chamber for you left hating racist twats. You retards just shut people out with memes.

/pol/ is not that different from a safe space

And that's why you've been forced to stop posting, Nigel.

Oh wait. You haven't. You'll continue to post whatever opinion on whatever topic you choose to whenever you'd like.

anyone is free to express any opinion they want at any time, no matter how shitty or unoriginal or derivative that opinion is. it really is free speech, and no ideas are systematically suppressed here. disagreeing with someone or saying "POO IN LOO" in response to a post does not suppress that message, nor does it make it any less visible.

as I've said earlier, the quality of discussion is often markedly low, but that is in no part due to suppression or lack of openness.

people are discouraged when others disagree with them. they are even more discouraged when they get BTFO with facts or arguments that they are not prepared for. but that's not suppression. this is, at all times, an open market for ideas, regardless of who happens to be speaking or listening at any given time.

Which part of you dumb human trashes shut people out with memes you don't understand? Unless people are persistent in challenging you faggots, they will just get ignored.

Anyone who glorifies /pol/ is a brainwashed cuck.

>Which part of you dumb human trashes shut people out with memes you don't understand?

the part where it actually happens.

in a real-life flesh and blood situation it's possible to physically shout someone down by having a mob of people yell at them so they cannot be heard. alternatively you could deny the person you're trying to suppress access to a platform, microphone, or venue in which to assemble an audience.

in the news media, the owners and managers of each program and network decide who does and does not get to speak on their programs, with very rare intrusions being the only exception. denying opinions you don't like is as simple as not inviting the people who hold them onto your show.

in many online forums (reddit is the best example) users invariably downvote opinions that are too inflammatory or unpopular, which results in them physically being hidden from other users. besides that, plenty of moderators will ban for a wide range of speech that they deem inappropriate for their own communities that are allowed to thrice on /pol/.

If someone doesn't like your post here on /pol/, the worst they can do is to respond to you and call you an asshat, or post some stupid meme. That is not suppression, nor does it deny anyone their ability to express themselves, not by any stretch of the imagination.

Is /pol/ the best forum for politics? No, maybe not. There sure are a lot of retards here and a lot of people spend more time spouting memes than actually discussing anything. But, to my knowledge, no other community can claim to provide its users with access to such open and broad opinions from users of so many different backgrounds, without also censoring and pruning individual opinions, and that's a fact.
