As I said before, DBZ and One Piece are great because they're dumb and flashy and there is a metric FUCKTON of it.
Another great fucking cartoon was Megas XLR which was the greatest show Cartoon Network ever ran. That, and a bunch of the Dexter's Lab episodes were great and seasons 1, 2, & 3 of Spongebob are absolutely classic (and still relevant too, despite the show being putrid shit from season 4 onwards)
Also, classic Looney Toons are damn near essential.
Outside cartoons, get him to watch stuff like the OG Star Wars Trilogy, Lord of the Rings (extended edition after the theatrical to get him into it).and the Back to the Future and Indiana Jones Trilogies.
