If a police officer not only tells you to stop resisting, and even points a gun at you while telling you to stop resisting, you STOP RESISTING.
Cooperate with your officers, treat them with respect, and they'll do the same with you.
DO NOT reach for your gun, start yelling, and chimp out even harder. YOU WILL get yourself killed in the presence of a drawn gun.
Very simple to understand this basic concept.
I've gotten into many situations involving cops and I've always managed to get off scot free because I talk to them like a decent human being and I understand they are doing their jobs and they see so many people that want to argue with them that they are absolutely sick of it. Like any office or professional environment, you should treat your peers at work with the utmost respect EVEN when they do something rude. Be the bigger man and move on. I've gotten stopped by cops for speeding, for drinking on the sidewalk, for peeing in public, etc...All minor things but I walked away from them.
Meanwhile my "thug" friends (ranging from white to black) who got into similar situations ended up with 300 dollar tickets or even short stays in jail.
How was it that they got booked and I didn't? The answer is simple: I acted like an adult.

And what if you're wrong, which is more than a reasonable and realistic possibility to believe. If you're wrong they would have been shot.
Bottom line is he was armed and resisting arrest. He reached for his gun and continued reaching for his gun even after the cop drew his weapon on him. The cop did not and should not have waited to see how the scenario would play out, because if he did he would have been shot.

You know what I really view as the problem here? Cops reacting this way to a problem they fucking caused and no one "getting it". Having lived in major cities most of my entire life, and by that I mean in areas of the country riddled with crime mostly caused by urban blacks like this dindunuffin (everything from gangs, shootings, stabbings, drugs, prostitution, anything you can fucking imagine), it didn't take long to see where a huge fucking issue was and how it was never being addressed.
Police departments purposefully exploit the zoo/jungle/devolved like nature of these types of people and their entire neighborhoods because they offer a steady stream of "work" for patrol cops. They know hardly any of these people are up to any good and the utterly broken infrastructure of their communities means that there's always something going on and always some mess that needs cleaning up. Someone always beating the fuck of their girlfriend, always slinging drugs, always boosting cars, stealing shit, duin'nuffin in general.
The problem is...this was as far as it got no matter what city I'd live in, or anywhere with ratchet ass urban neighborhoods like this fucker's. They just kept exploiting the problem over and over and over again until it's now completely out of fucking control. Now they're only left with the choice to shoot this idiots, all with mile long wrap sheets, because they didn't think about any ultimate end game for the issues the communities are plagued with.
They didn't think "well maybe for a good 10-15 years yeah, we'll run with it, but eventually we WILL have to actually do the sensible and make SOME effort to tidy this shit up for our own well being as well as the surrounding communities".
