HAPPENING: Newt Gingrich and Donald Trump seen leaving Trump Tower together
>>
>>79972566
Can't Jewt the Newt
>>
Newt has been one of the very few establishment Republicans who "get" Trump. I have huge respect for the guy - unlike Cucks like Paul Ryan, Ben ((Shapiro)) , Mark ((Levin)) etc
>>
People who want Newt want Trump to get JFK'd
>>
>>79973877
But then we'd get our own Moon colony
>>
Gingrich is brilliant. H'es a visionary. But dont make him a VP.

>>79973877

Yes, if he picks Newt he is doing what the globalists want.

Now if Trump picks Newt he is in danger.

I think Trump is pretty smart, hope he knows how to handle this.
>>
>>79972566
That's an interesting choice. I don't care for how he shit talked the God-Emperor a few weeks back. Pretty cucked up desu.
>>
>>79974202

>>
More Gingrich. Let's meme this fucker to a cabinet position.

I keep hearing this lately. My opinion of him is neutral at best, but is there any proof of him being the anti-christ as all of you paint him?

I've been suspicious recently since I saw his commercial he did with Nancy Pelosi a few years back, and learning he started out working for the Rockefellers, but need something more substantial than all that.

Yes. Obviously the 16 year old redditors that have flooded /pol/ will disagree, talking about how Trump needs to pick Webb, Paul or Sessions, but they should be ignored.

A legitimate claim can be made that Gingrich is the best American statesman born after WW2. He also parallels Trump in many ways, except that his vocabularly and oratory skills are better than a 4th grader's.

He's a solid choice, and is exactly the kind of guy Trump needs right now.

it fits really well, Newt is agreeable with Trump on many things BUT is also an experienced politician which would quell the claims that the Trump ticket is unqualified.

The worst thing Trump could do is pick someone too extreme or too stupid. So he should avoid Carson/Women and go with someone more like Newt.
>>
>>79975501

He knows of them at least, he said the media and Washington DC elites hate Trump because he isn't one of them club members.
>>
>>79976180

Newt is a good politician. People here are acting like the sky is falling because they think this gives the establishment a good motive to assassinate Trump and put Newt at the helm like they did to JFK

This is why foreigners shouldn't be allowed to interject into our affairs. Gingrich's main criticism from the right during the 90s was that he wasn't a Neocon when that was in vogue. The dude opposed the Iraq War far stronger than Trump did.
>>
>>79974779

>The GOP senator met with Trump on Monday and received effusive praise afterward, with Trump predicting he will “see her again.” But it likely won’t be as his running mate.
“I made that very clear to him that I’m focused on Iowa. I feel that I have a lot more to do in the United States Senate. And Iowa is where my heart is,” Ernst said Wednesday. “I’m just getting started here. I have a great partner with Chuck Grassley, we’ve been able to accomplish a lot. And I think that President Trump will need some great assistance in the United States Senate and I can provide that.”

It's a Politico interview, so you can give them hits if you want.

Corker also seems to have dropped out.

If its Newt, I will disavow all my support of Trump and vote for the NSA did 9/11 guy again.

Objectively wrong. Handing Bratton the reins of the NYPD was the single largest contributing factor in NYC's crime dive. He ran his city as a law and order guy and was very successful in that regard.

>>79981638
Remember that Trump strategy is to swamp the talk shows for free media
And this is exactly why you want Gingrich on your team. His oratory skills and ability to spin ANYTHING would make Cicero himself contemplate his life.
>>
Nikki Haley is a better choice than Newt. They are both establishment. However, she would be better for him on election day.
>>
>>79981972
Not true at all. Their Executive duties aren't used all too much (their Senate vote is invoked more than you might think though). But they are incredibly important during election season, and can make or break your ticket. It would be an oversimplification to slap Palin with McCain's loss, but she was a horrible runningmate. Lieberman didn't do Gore any favors either.

Beyond that, you ship your VP off to foreign head of state's funerals and shit like that. At the very least, Gingrich has tact and would be suitable that.

>>79982171
I said in the long run. Crime went down, but hes also responsible for vacant real estate worth millions sitting empty because its owned by Chinese and Russian investors. Its the reason Times Square is now a pedestrian plaza filled with perverts in Elmo suits. His vision of the city is a fucking nightmare, and we're seeing the true implications of it now.
>>
>>79982821
Cool. Another foreigner who read a Wikipedia article and thinks he's an expert on American politics. Let me guess, context isn't even in your vocabulary?

>Voted pro-Amnesty
Again, that context bit. You know, the part where he forced through the part of the bill where border security would be properly enforced (not delivered by Clinton)? Or where he was the immigration candidate during his 2012 bid?
>NAFTA
You going to ignore that NAFTA had bipartisan support and that Gingrich has recanted in that department and admitted it was a mistake that must be immediately rectified?
>CLimate Change
Nope. He wanted to reform the EPA and saw it as a massively corrput, bureaucratic organization that was utterly incompetent.
>muh globalization
I've addressed this a couple of times in this thread. By no reasonable metric can you consider Gingrich a globalist when he spearheaded UN criticism in America. And, again, he cautioned against American interventionism and nation building.
>muh gun control
Yep. He supported background checks and was opposed to convicted felons owning firearms.

Try again Hans.

Gingrich is probably Trump's best chance for crossover appeal. His only route to the WH is through a larger majority of the Independent vote than ever before: there are still too many gop holdouts.

I don't think you realize how favorable Congress and the presidency was during 92-98. We're at all time highs in unfavorability, and have been since around 2005.

Gingrich was well liked up until his marital indiscretions, and Clinton would be stupid to bring that up.

Trump's judge comments weren't asinine, though.

As a nation, we've already accepted that a Judge's ethnicity can influence their decisions; remember the cheering for Sotomayor's "Wise latina with rich experiences... that a white man simply wouldn't have."?

If we've accepted that (and we have), and add in that the judge was a member of La Raza, it's not too hard to see why Trump's criticisms are valid, and have genuine precedent in American public opinion.
>>
>>79986451

>but I'm also not a fucking baby

a lot of voters, especially younger first or second time voters, are though. not that trump was ever gonna win the young vote anyway. Newt could still end up attracting a net positive of voters if he wins over enough independents and former #nevertrump old GOP faggots
>>
>>79986806
Come on. They were absolutely stupid. And where are you getting this idea that Sotomayor's comments were acceptable? Those remarks will, appropriately, be a black stain on her judicial record.

Trump was airing his dirty laundry. I can see why he's upset, and I can even see why he would want a recusement. If he thinks he's being treated unfairly, you have a court and a team of elite lawyers to exercise your defense. Use it.

I'm glad Gingrich and other Trump supporters called him out on it. It shows that he doesn't just have a team of inept Yes-Men behind him.

You don't want lackeys on your team.

No he isn't, how do you figure that? How can you control who buys and sells real estate if its done within the law?
The strength of the US capital markets is the reason for this. every city in America, fuck, the world is experiencing the same thing with regard to Chinese and Russian investors. Thats why buildings are colloquially termed 'billionaire bitcoins'.

I've never heard such an asinine inference in my life. Rudy Giuliani is actually the invisible hand of the free market? Fuck outta here.
>>
GOP shills pls go.
>>
Newt is a death sentence to trump...
>>
>>79988094
Yes, but the "law" also does not grant residency to people who purchase real estate, and certain buildings/neighborhoods used to stipulate that owners must occupy their property in some way. It might be good for markets, but its shitty for the quality of life in a city, and its the reason that Manhattan is a giant shopping mall with empty (yet expensive) property all over it, and people are being displaced.

Rudy Guliani wanted to clean up the city to make it safe for investors, not make it better for residents.
>>
>>79974037

Noice.
>>
>>79987533

I agree about not wanting lackeys, but Newt was pulling a Paul Ryan on that issue.

Regarding Sotomayor's comments, don't you remember the (small) Conservative backlash? We were all told by the left to shut the Hell up.

Those remarks were celebrated by Dems. and left-leaning independents, had Trump argued along those lines (And this was something that Buchanan went out of his way to write about twice, so it's not some obscure thought), he'd have fared better.

Yeah, I had no idea what he was trying to get at. From personal experience, all I remember about Giuliani was him telling me to buckle up in taxis in New York.

But I will reiterate that hiring Bratton was the best move the city's ever seen. Honestly, I'm somewhat surprised that his name isn't floating around considering Trump has definitely played the law and order card several times. You also get the nonpartisan angle that so many here want with Webb.

Sotomayor has superseded Ginsberg as target #1 for the right. There absolutely was backlash from Conservatives. Had Obama tried forcing her through during an election year, I guarantee Congress wouldn't play ball.

I also don't give a fuck what Democrats and the left celebrate. They picked a Justice who will always vote to the left, and who will race bait at every opportunity. What can we do about it beyond dissect and refute each and every one of her opinions that plays into leftist hands?

Just what Trump needs to fire up that youth demographic.
A white male even older than him.

If Newt is older, then he's pretty much disqualified. Trump wanted Sessions as his VP but his age made him not viable.

Because De Blasio is hamstringing his own fucking department at every chance he gets. Give Bratton the streets again; it worked in LA, Boston and NYC. Even the UK wanted him.

I didn't read this thread so maybe someone thought of this before me.

But it's 4d chess. Do you really think Trump would be so obvious to be seen with someone who might be his VP, and spoil the element of surprise before the convention?

I think this is just a smoke screen. Wanting the media to speculate on it.
He might hire Newt as a consultant, but I think he has another VP choice in mind.

Or maybe this is just wishful thinking.
>>
I like Newt because he triggers Arabs.

Pretty much, Newt is bait for the kike media, his real VP pick will be something more unexpected.

Michael Flynn would be the best pick for Trump

I guess it's possible, and I think that Gingrich would be a very good SoS: he and Trump line up almost 1:1 on foreign policy, except Newt can actually vocalize the policy.

Still, Gingrich will, and should, be VP. Trump has said for weeks that it will be a "big name." Of all the names left, Gingrich is the only one who meets that requirement.

I'm OK with this.

If Trump picks gingrich, then he is either a massively incompetent retard or he has been a hillary plant all along and is going to purposely lose so she wins.

My bet is that Trump is a plant. I've been saying it along and won't be surprised when I'm right.

LOL @ pol thinking they could meme a bombastic racist like Trump into the white house.

Why would Gingrich be a good choice? I don't know enough about the guy.

But my grandpa says he would be terrible and I trust his opinion since hes redpilled as fuck and been voting since like 1948.

>Trump/Gingrich
Just when I thought it wasn't possible to make Trump seem less appealing to vote for, he puts an even more contemptible human being than he on the ticket.

Before you get mad, this doesn't mean Hillary is any less trash or that Warren is any less of a sell-out if she is chosen for VP.

>>79990634
Trump has said for a while he wants somebody with political experience. And, as I said earlier, Trump has said it will be a "big name." All signs point to Newt, especially with today's elminations.

As to why he would be a good choice? I've kind of answered earlier this thread, but I'll quickly run through.

>Immigration
Gingrich's (fairly short) 2012 campaign hedged on immigration. He wanted a secure border, and it almost seems like Trump borrowed he talking points. He wanted an "open border" to bring in legal immigrants, but it must first be impenetrable for illegal criminals. He brought up the rape trees in one of his debates/interviews.

>foreign policy
Strongly opposed to intervention. Opposed the Iraq War and has been a strong critic of the UN for decades now. Another parallel.

>Trade Policy
He was speaker during NAFTA passage, but has since recanted. For several months now has supported Trump's more protectionist policies.

That's the 3 that come to mind, but beyond that is his oratory ability. This is something that doesn't come up very often. Trump is good on the stump, sure. But you want to send a guy like Gingrich on the Sunday shows to clarify and expand.

Notice how Trump has pulled back on his "establishment" argument, at least for the gop. He's inviting a guy like Gingrich. You want him on your team. And it doesn't hurt that, since 1999, Gingrich's "career" was much less of a Washington insider. Kind of bullshit, since you don't throw a guy like him from politics, but he's been out of the "game" for almost 20 years.

No idea why your granpappy doesn't like him.
>>
>>79972566
Trump already rejected like $100M he was offered if he chose Newt. It's not going to be him, this is just a red Herring.
>>
>>79976363
He was to Bill Clinton what Paul Ryan is to Obama. Most people credit him as the creation of the retarded GOP.
>>
>>79992897
Trump changes his mind. A lot. Newt is the best choice for VP; he knows Washington, and the Clintons, better than anybody and can navigate Trump through the minefields better than anybody.

His only drawback is his name, Newt, oh, and the fact that he served divorce papers on his dying wife in the hospital.
>>
>>79994303
It's going to be Michael Flynn.

>He wanted an "open border" to bring in legal immigrants

How is that even remotely similar to Trump's policy of closed borders? That's like people like Gary Johnson and other tepid neocons and even Democrats. He also previously supported amnesty for illegal aliens.

>Strongly opposed to intervention. Opposed the Iraq War and has been a strong critic of the UN for decades now. Another parallel.

Nope.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Newt_Gingrich
>Gingrich had also been generally supportive of the war in Iraq. He had also strongly opposed attempts to set timetables for withdraw and compared such measures to legislating defeat.
>Gingrich has called for a stronger foreign policy, along the lines of the "Reagan model" of toughness",[146] having been critical of the "weakness" of recent administrations' policies.[147]

He was only slightly opposed to intervention in Libya.

>He was speaker during NAFTA passage, but has since recanted.
Probably only to pander. Just as late as 2011, he said it was a good thing.

http://www.rawstory.com/2011/03/whoops-gingrich-praises-nafta-for-shipping-out-american-jobs/

He also supported other trade deals like the WTO, GATT and and MFN. Also his firm Dentons supposedly supports the TPP. I can't open the site for whatever reason but the Google preview I have says:

>The Trans-Pacific Partnership offers Canadian retailers exciting new ... textile industry retailers and producers should consider the TPP's impact ...
>On November 5, 2015, the text of the groundbreaking TPP Agreement was released.

So it seems supportive.
