That's what makes revolutions so risky and high-cost. If you think you can have a revolution without broad support from multiple groups, you're insane. It's a perception of self defense that is born out of a belief that conservatives are directly antagonistic. You have to consider the context here. A lot of these people were alive in a time where you'd get openly harassed or outright attacked just for your appearance, not only by citizens, but by the government itself.
