SHIRTGATE - 1.1 STARS ON GOOGLE EDITION

A fellow anon went into bang on t-shirts in San Francisco to get a t-shirt that had "trump" written on it, instead he received one that also said "fuck you" on the inside.

Original video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUSTJK6S480

Subsequent phone call where store manager tells him he is a jerk and ruined his day and if he comes back they will kick him out
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9DFautmO_k

Also I pretended to be a reporter from BBC News and called their San Francisco shop, she details the abusive phone calls she received and apparently the employee has been fired. You can listen to that here:
http://vocaroo.com/i/s0vw0RrktVdz

Interestingly, I think that the woman the guy was talking to in the youtube video above is the same woman I was speaking to in the vocaroo link above, what are your thoughts?

Also OP should continue to call them pretending to be Schlomo Shekelstein from the BBC to ask funny questions.

After listening to that phone call I really feel bad for the (I presume) owner.

Sounds like they have good policies in place and a pro-active approach to try and avoid situations like this, but the lefty cunt who printed that shirt is gonna be a lefty cunt regardless.

It's a shame that the owner has to sit there and take all that flak and can't even disclose who's actually at fault.

Yes, the owner deserves some blame for
1. hiring that person and
2. having no responsible floor manager to manage staff and prevent this kind of shit
but if I were apportioning blame I'd easily apportion it 5%-95% against the employee.

Because we're sending a message to all businesses about them or their employees taking anti-Trump stances, dummy. Businesses feel they can just insult, or refuse Trump supporters as clientele.

This won't happen any more.

>Why not find out who the employee actually was?

Why bother? The (((Mainstream Media))) will publicly brand her a hero and offer her a book deal within the week, and Bang-On will likely start selling "Trump/Fuck You." T-Shirts anyway.

Well, it depends on the business I guess. If you work for a bigger corporation its a violation even to talk to the media. But I guess this woman started a T-shirt printing business, has piercings and tattoos. The business itself does not really have a brand so it does not matter that much, but swearing in any business setting especially to the media is very bad.

Maybe you should take a lesson in business, gas sniffin abbo.

There's a reason companies employ people to be their media faces. Being perfectly professional is hard, and it's a skill. I don't expect just anyone to be able to sleepwalk through a crisis (and what's happening to this company is definitely a crisis for them).

This signifies that no matter how many excuses she gives, I don't see any reason to be sympathetic of her. She's the one who is most responsible for the image her business projects. She made it perfectly clear that she doesn't care about preserving that amidst a media shitstorm.

Great observation, anon. You've really cracked the case.

That still doesn't address my central critique of your "argument" (more of a statement, really), which isn't that she did nothing wrong but rather that what she did was not so wrong that
a) she and she alone deserves all blame, or even that she deserves most of the blame
and
b) she deserves no sympathy
Running a business is hard. I sympathise with her, because everyone makes mistakes and handling crises isn't fun.

Apparently you don't sympathise with anyone unless they're perfect, in which case they don't need your sympathy. What a convenient state to exist in - it means you can justify inflicting your malignant cynical misanthropy on the world as simply what the world deserves for not being perfect enough for you.

It's not even that. I agree that being professional on the phone to the BBC is something that is perfectly reasonable to expect.

My criticism is that a single deviation from your standards somehow, according to you, gives others the grounds to withhold all sympathy because if you can't be professional on the phone to the BBC you deserve to have your business shat all over and significantly harmed because of the actions of some fucknugget that are only about 5% your fault.

Your response is in no way proportional to the crime, and that is my criticism. You're trying to justify the way you already feel because you want to hate this woman and you'll use any excuse to do so, rather than deciding how you should feel based on reason and logic and impartial analysis of the facts.

Yes, but that's not the same as being to blame for it. Obviously she's responsible, but I wouldn't say it's her fault. If a tornado strikes then disaster relief is responsible for the situation, but that doesn't mean they're to blame for the tornado.

>>79895405
I agree, and it sounds like the owner had what I would have considered a pretty good policy in place for situations like these, namely that if you don't want to print the shirt because you object to it, you don't have to. I'd have considered that pretty good.

However, she definitely should have had a manager on at all times, but we don't know how much responsibility each employee had. If there were 50 of them all doing nothing but operating printing machines like fast-food workers then a manager would have been essential. If there were three people in the entire warehouse that were responsible for everything from electricity to plumbing to catering to manufacturing to training then I can see why you'd be comfortable without a higher-up present to manage such a small and seemingly capable, responsible team. Who should have been on the floor and when is highly contextual.

However, double-handling going forward is a good idea, and in hindsight should have been implemented sooner.

Regardless, how much you can trust any individual 20 year old depends on the 20 year old, obviously. Your argument once again boils down to
>she wasn't as cynical as me

You can't just blanket not trust any 20 year old if you're trying to run a business that employs them, or you'll spend so much on oversight that you'll never turn a profit. Especially if it's a business that requires a high degree of autonomy.

You might say that the fact that this happened at all is proof that you're not cynical, you're right, but how many other employed 20 year olds are there that don't do stupid shit like this every single day. This is clearly an outlier, not a commonality.

>“The children now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise.”
t. Socrates

You tell me.

If generations have been getting progressively worse since 1642 at least why does the world enjoy the highest standards of pretty much everything either right now or only a generation or two ago?

Because the preceding generations understood the importance of promoting literacy in as many subjects which could ever be relevant to your life as possible, while you all sat in high school and rolled your eyes at fractions and learning to spell words you'll "never use in real life".

How did they understand this if generations have been declining every generation since 1642 at least?

If the decline is only juuuust becoming noticeable now, then how can it possibly be of sufficient magnitude as to be the source of all our trials and tribulations? Especially considering 20 year olds are a fraction of the workforce, and barely represented at all in the "real" jobs?

You can keep clinging on to this ludicrous tangent all you like anon, but everyone can see you're increasingly suspended by your fingertips.

I'm curious if they are not paying their franchise taxes to California .

Eric Hedstrom is the officer listed on the tax filings and he has these other companies as well

Only way it would have been awkward is if you were American doing a fake accent. When your accent is genuine and you are calling up American people, they will never doubt you for a second. Any of us would be fooled hook line and sinker. Keep up the good work.

Because the decline is in attitude, which has nothing to do with accomplishment or success.

Because... ultimately... We collectively shut down businesses that receive sympathetic responses for being ignorant of circumstances and promote businesses which practice successful business practices.

So the decline can only be measured in terms of how you specifically feel about the world today?

If that's the case how can you measure it dating back to 1642, which I presume you weren't alive for?

>We collectively shut down businesses that receive sympathetic responses for being ignorant of circumstances and promote businesses which practice successful business practices.
Well then you can call me back when Bang-On winds up with evidence that the wind-up was caused by too much sympathy.

I won't wait up.

Trust me, it isn't.

You don't have to be an old man to know that if you give a mouse a cookie they will want a glass of milk.

These are rules of thumb. They sound ridiculous to you because you haven't had the experience to see that they're based on intuitive statistical figures.

Makes sense, I remember seeing a few posts about how outside groups are subverting and pacifying the old fun boards with degenerate shit. Either the members disperse (and lose power) or stay and get manipulated by degeneracy.

Such a disgusting enemy we face.

Considering that supposedly the only way to measure this decline in attitude is through your feelings on the subject I don't really have a choice otherwise, do I?

But then you'd have to show that this decline in attitude is actually responsible for our current economic woes, which would be hard to do seeing as you can't actually prove the decline exists due to an inability to measure it, nor can you prove it causes economic harm due to an inability to define it.

What causes all of this Trump hate?

Is it because he's actually as racist as liberals want us to believe or is it because they want us to believe he is more racist than he actually is?

I'm going with the latter, and it might sound cliche, but when I was your age we did the same shit and spun it around just the same.

This doesn't sound like strong evidence that this generation is part of a precipitous decline in 'attitude' resulting in economic harm if the behaviour of it was mirrored in previous generations, anon.

You guys should have listened to Chimpout Radio back in the day. There was a guy called UK Darkie Destroyer who would call t-shirt shops asking them to print shirts saying 'Trayvon Martin got justice' and asked for them to add 'a big red bullet hole in the middle'. He would also call hardware stores and ask if they sold chains strong enough to stop his nigger slaves from running away.
