Check for websites specific to your state, like seekingmichigan.org
Make free tree on ancestry to put your info down. Set it as private till you feel the information is very solid. Don't just copy someone elses tree without checking their work, a lot of people make fake trees linking to kangs n sheeeit.
Ancestry DNA in connection with that tree is solid.
23andme if you care about your health, or have known issues in your family.
