You couldn't be more wrong. Predominantly white and male political parties (libertarian, conservative) are done. This election cycle throws the lid shut on the coffin. Demographically they will be non-viable. If they pivot their political positions to get a viable number of minority votes they'll be politically indistinguishable from the democrats.
There is no wiggle room here. You don't get "splinters," and "reformation." One party now controls the whole government. If you think that's an "unstable," situation, you should see how long it's lasted in China.

Did you notice the ages of the candidates running in this election and in the 2010 and 2014 elections? The GOP has many, many young newly elected men and women who were elected in the Tea Party movement. We saw several of them running for president already — Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Scott Walker, Rand Paul, Bobby Jindal, just to name a few.
Meanwhile on the Democrat side, there is nothing but 70+ year old geriatrics all over the place. The GOP has spent the last 8-10 years undergoing a transfer of power from the baby boomer neo-con establishment to the Gen-X Tea Party youth. The Dems are set to undergo the same upheaval as indicated by the massive rift in philosophy within the Dem party as exposed by the Bernie Sanders campaign, BLM, New Black Panthers, and so on. If nothing else, the Democrat party is headed for very rough waters for the next decade or so.

Not in their current form. The only way they'll survive is to give a little ground in terms of ideological purity and then figure out how to appeal at least somewhat to Hispanics and Asians. Asians used to vote majority Republican and George W. got 40% of the Hispanic vote in 2004, so it's not a lost cause like appealing to blacks, but will require some sort of ideological compromise.
Basically, dial back the crazy and racism and start grooming Brian Sandoval for a presidential run, rather than making him persona non grata in the Nevada state Republican Party.
