Liberals who support Islam are idiots. I would consider myself a liberal if they didn't support Islam which I hate more than anything else in the world.
The ultimate goal of the liberal West is to secularise Islam over the coming decades so that arab immigrants can contribute to society without bringing damaging rhetoric with them.
Islam doesn't have a monopoly on batshit-insane dogma, Christianity and Judaism figured that out long before Islam was a thing.
Unfortunately, unlike with Jews and Christians, who have largely let go of the anachronistic parts of religion. The majority of muslims hold onto it for dear life.
At this point, shunning/deporting/slaying muslims is not the answer. Westernising them is.

You can't publicly criticize any aspect of Islam without being discarded as racist fascist islamophobe. There are literally no attempts whatsoever at castrating their radicalism or secularizing them. In fact, their radical values are gradually becoming more influential (schoolgirls in Bavaria told to expose less skin, billboards with women in bikinis taken down in UK, gay parade banned from entering muslim neighborhood in Sweden, etc)
If West wanted to make Islam more liberal they could've at least attempted to do that from within instead of bringing the worst parts of it home.
