It can get me in touch with my primal side. It forces me into a meditative state where my conscious mind is less likely to run away with itself, and instead I focus on the here and now. I become impaired, so my immediate need might be to hide my impairment from predators (such as bosses, police, or even my fellow citizens). But it can also amplify the moment, such as enhancing my enjoyment of my senses. My third eye is pried open and to visualize something takes no effort.
It indeed makes me lazy though. Life's problems seem like they can wait till the high is over. But don't we all know the early bird gets the worm? So this is my biggest reason for needing moderation. The more time spent intoxicated, the longer I procrastinate to solve my problems.
I mentioned predators earlier. If I am in a poor state of mind, weed will make me more prone to being socially dominated. People prey on the weak. If I am wandering around society hardly functioning, people will sense it, even if they don't see the red eyes. Smoking too much for too long blurs too many lines. Words have so many meanings, and the context becomes harder to identify. Leaders have speaking and listening skills. If you become a drunkard on weed, words will become too vague and universal to the point that you will develop highly selective hearing.
