1. I think there are enough intelligent posters to organize the beginning steps of nation-forming. I've also seen that we have a wide variety of professions represented here that (assuming books and information are available) utilities could be made to function. I think we even have people who have worked on farms and who could produce food (Obviously food, water, energy are the FIRST concerns of a theoretical establishment) after that, its a matter of figuring out who does what best. I'd say it would take 5 years, with a shit ton of problems (but no violence, I don't think, despite how many internet tough guys we have here). 3. Certainly a regional superpower, as long as it's given ample time to develop before being exposed to Africa. I don't know how many pol users there are, nor how they compare to african populations. But seriously, Even the shining Jewel of Africa (SA) is a fucking turdpile. Global superpower? Madagascar is simply too isolated. Even if it is rich in natural resources, I simply don't think it makes a big enough presence in the globe to make a difference. If we were to recolonize Africa (violently), get the resources fed back to a metropolis on the island, then maybe we could become a player. Regional superpower: 25 years. Global: 50. It's been done in less.
5. I think it all ends the same way. That whole age of decadence thesis. 250 years. Corruption. Vice. Abandonment of the virtues that brought success.
