Even though the referendum returned a narrow yes, Brexit is still screwed.

Firstly and obviously, the Hourse of Commons has a majority against Brexit, and it's still up to them to trigger article 50 of the Lisbon treaty.

Secondly, problems lie in Scotland and Northern Ireland. These countries both voted against Brexit (Scotland with a massive 62/38 split) and what's worse, their parliaments may be able to cockblock[1] the UK as a whole from leaving the EU.

Trying to overrule this from London, aside from it being undemocratic, would trigger a constitutional crisis and would probably give Scottish secessionists a lot of leverage with promises of an independent Scotland remaining in the EU.

So basically, UK would literally tear itself apart trying to get out of EU to the point I highly doubt any advantage remains in doing so.

Picture unrelated.

First the corrupt media try'd to scare everyone away from leaving saying the economy would collapse but it's allready back to normal and trade will go on as normal and even though imports went down a bit exports went right up.

So now the EU is trying to spew more propaganda resorting to busswords calling everyone racist. Well there is a big difference between migration and an invasion. If we wen't to their countries and did the same thing they wouldn't stand for it so why should you.

The EU is pathetic and it's just full of power hungry bureaucrats and they will try every trick in the book to stop the UK from leaving.

The UK gives more money to the EU than they get back and theer is no reason to stay. The left is so dumb they can't see through all teh propaganda the media spews out and guess who owns the media think about that leftsists.

okay senpai but it isn't the Comission or anyone else in the EU preventing Brexit, it's UK's own internal parliaments.

Britain is relevant because of England and to a lesser extent the Welsh. No one could give a fuck if rainy Greece or the rooty tooty point n shooty part of Ireland leaves, let them leave, the EU aren't going to take in two more third world countries when they've just lost one of their largest contributors.

To be fair if Westminster pulls them out of the EU despite their voters having objected against it, then they'd probably enter negotiations with the Republic looking for some sort of treaty that lets them retain EU access.

I dunno what EU law says about shenanigans like this, though.

Additionally, the EU stands as the guarantor of the Good Friday peace treaty, which then must be considered broken if NI leaves the EU.

not really, can you maybe fucking enlighten me instead of posting smug oneliners?

Factually incorrect, Brexit can be triggered without a commons vote.
>>
>>79610861
It's very simple they either stay and get caught in the bureaucratic nightmare that is the EU and have no control over their own laws or they can leave and take control again no matter how hard it might be it must be done.

If they stay they'l just end up like Germanganistan.
>>
>>79610861
Also do you really think everyone else will want to stay in the EU other than the third world shithole countries that don't contribute anything anyway.
>>
>>79607965
UK's markets are already recovering and the leave campaign can easily gain huge support by just pointing how like a big fucking dictator the EU acted, a lot of people have seen the true, german, face of the EU and will want nothing to do with it.

source?

Also, that Hourse of Lords report seems to suggest that it would be illegal for Westminster to override The European Communities Act 1972 without parliamentary cooperation from the Scots.

>Firstly and obviously, the Hourse of Commons has a majority against Brexit, and it's still up to them to trigger article 50 of the Lisbon treaty.
nope, its a government decision. they have clear indication from the referendum vote what 'the people' want

>Secondly, problems lie in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
their parliaments cannot block UK legislation. Scotland voted 2 years ago to remain in UK. UK decision to leave EU, thats it.
NI isn't going anywhere without majority decision from both communities, which there won't be since they want diametrically opposite things.

Exactly and other countries would be insane to cut off trade with the UK they'd loose money them self if they cut trade off and when the other powerfull countries leave the EU aswell trade will go on as normal and to top things off Russia want's to open big trade deals with the UK now that they are trying to leave the EU.
>>
>>79611385
Actually, the London financial sector enjoys a unique prerogative for trading in Euros due to being the capital of an EU member state.

Brexit would force them to fuck off to Frankfurt or whereever.
>>
>>79607965
First off Scotland can't "remain" in the EU. It would have to leave and then rejoin, which hold two issues A) they would have to join they Euro which nobody in their right mind would want. B) at present their deficit is approximately 8% of their gdp, the EU would require them to reduce it to 5% which means no more socialist paradise for them, particularly when you take into account that their oil is not only running out but loosing value.
The Republic of Ireland wouldn't accept a united Ireland's anyway, the Ulster man would riot and probably bomb things which they don't want and there is no way an independent NI would be financially viable.
>>
>>79611191
>UK's markets are already recovering
From what? They haven't left yet. They haven't even committed to leaving. That's what the markers are responding to; the suspicion that article 50 is never getting invoked.

Simple decision
>stop listening to the scare tactics on the news
>Vote leave
>Economy is fine
>tare down red tape and stupid regulations made by the EU
>kick out migrants and cut the welfare to them
>use the money to help Brits instead
everyone else leaves EU except for third world shitholes that don't help anyone anyway
>everyone lives happily ever after except the trashbags
