No, they wouldn't--that's nonsense. It's just a series of events that progressed. The principles driving that progression are the same now as they were fifty years ago. It's just that the problems those beliefs are being applied to solving are a different set, today, than the problems that those same beliefs were being applied to, fifty years ago.
