4chan has steadily been corrupted and infiltrated over the years as more attention has been brought to it. It's generally a small fry operation I'd imagine but it's still there. Private organizations as well as federal institutions want to curb that to meet their standards and benefit them, potentially stifling and stopping memes and discourse which could spill out into more mainstream channels. Though we view facebook, twitter, tumblr, and reddit with disdain, many from those websites visit 4chan and many who visit 4chan also visit /pol/ which makes up one of the most trafficked boards on here. /pol/ related youtube videos have millions of views, /pol/ related opinions and statements are spilling out into twitter responses to mainstream politicians and figures. Trump has created a modicum for our voice to be expanded outward into the mainstream since we are a convenient accent to Trump's position and campaign, and of course that is going to be directly targeted by Hillary in response. Hence the shilling, which isn't entirely shilling, but at any given moment you have to doubt who is just trolling for responses by imitating a shill and who is a paid agent.
Even elements of the deep state(alphabet organizations) seem like they participate to derail in depth conversation that incriminates them, for example with that anon's post to /x/.
