That was made easier because I sponsored my wife. Must be harder without. A Russian friend of mine came here from Germany and he said he sent in his paperwork from Germany and didn't hear back for 5 years. He had forgotten he even sent it in because he had figured he was declined since it took so long. Then he got to do the same process I did.
