When you grow up like you do here in rich neighborhoods, which also tend to be White or Asian, you don't experience anything other than a very coddled homogenized life. You hear these little tidbits of what life is like in poorer parts your country, state, even city or neighborhood and you generally build a liberal very open outlook to the people from those poor areas but you also categorize them as shit holes in your head. This mindset transfers to any other place that has been labeled as poor by MSM or the govt. and is the catalyst for many American's opinions on outside countries.

My father used to work in Chile for two months a year and found it breddy gud. The pictures he showed me looked like he did a fucking trip around the world with deserts, fjords, glaciers, forests
he especially liked the people and the approach to politics when he visited Santiago and saw demonstrations pro-Pinochet and pro-Allende the same day. mostly he worked in bumfuck nowhere though so he wasnt really in touch with economy, politics and the likes. He also mostly lived with a friend in a gated community house but i dont really know if thats a necessity in Chile.
i also remember a picture of some cafe that was founded by a Reichsmarine captain who boasted about its founder introducing Apfelstrudel to your country while displaying a huge pic of his old ship in the dining room.
