I'll try to keep this brief.
One of my late uncles was a Klansmen, and talked about it pretty frequently.
My family was catholic but he converted to Methodism when he got into the Klan.

I totally got the Klan's hatred of blacks and jews, but I never quite understood why catholics were in the group.
Seemed to me like they were white, traditional, everything the KKK liked with some minor differences in religion.

I remember him ranting one time about how the Catholic church was just a communist front and that the church was seeking to be a one world government and to unite all the races of the earth into one.

It sounded totally out of left field, until this argentinian cuckpope came around.

Now it seems like the church is literally doing what a KKK madman from the deep south's conspiracy theory said they would.

The pope is pushing for acceptance of Islam, mass immigration, socialism.
There are more brown catholics in the world than white ones, and the church is using this to it's advantage.

Have I been tricked this whole time?

Most protestants believe that the Catholic church is the whore of Babylon. It doesn't come as a surprise to them that the Catholic church is doing the work of Satan.

In the United States, we are used to thinking of Christianity as monolithic, and of the strand of Roman Catholicism that has grown up alongside Protestantism here as part of that structure, largely Indo-European and appreciative of Western Civilization.

The short answer is that Roman Catholicism, unlike Protestantism, is a total system - it has the goal of converting everyone on the planet. Protestants (naively, I think) look upon the Roman Catholic church as a friendly toward them, when the reality is that the Roman Catholic church fully intends to re-absorb Protestant heretics and rule the world from the Vatican, and they will use any means necessary. Your uncle and his buddies figured that out. Too bad his peers did not listen to him.

Keep in mind that the Klan formed in a time when immigration from Ireland and Italy was so high that it threatened to fundamentally change the political and cultural state of America. They were all Catholic, and formed insular Catholic communities in cities in which they operated ethnic criminal organizations while the Church turned a blind eye to their criminality and put pressure on local politicians to favor Catholic immigrants.

Come to think of it, the same thing is happening with Mexicans right now.

To your point I used to laugh at people who called Obama a Marxist Muslim. The Ikhwan were the result of al-Banna admiring aspects of Bolshevism and wanting to use them to revitalize Islam. Obama has numerous connections to a group of formerly revolutionary Marxists that made a decision decades ago to go institutional rather than violent. And in both cases there are numerous inarguable connections.

We need to defend bigotry as a defense mechanism. There is nothing wrong or irrational in staying away from something dangerous. We delude and endanger ourselves when we think that we are not allowed to reject something until after it has been clearly proven with mathematical precision. That's what bigotry is, and it goes through our governmental system, irrationally batting away certain policies, regardless of the good they always promise, because of the possible danger that they will establish tyranny.
Or put it this way: the Jew insists that you accept Muslim, mestizo and black neighbors, while using his "religion" to justify his own segregated subdivision.

The short answer is yes. What do you think "go and make disciples of all nations" means? God created all races of men, and withholds His grace from no one who is penitent. In this view, a mankind united in our love and service to God is precisely the mission of the Church - to bring as many souls to perfection in Christ as is possible.

Long answer: you're uncle is wrong. It has officially been recognised that the Church has been targeted by leftists and Freemasons since the mid-19th century. For evidence of this, there are plenty of papal encyclicals from that period onward charging these wicked ideologies with the offense of subversion, among numerous others.

The issue of the current Church is the heresy modernism, which is in part a product of the aforementioned enemies of the Church and in part the rejection of traditional scholasticism in favour of an increasing reliance upon secular philosophy and science to understand God and the human relationship to God. The latter, which is rarely discussed, was a trend birthed by early-20th century disgraced ecclesiastics like Fr George Tyrell and Fr Alfred Loisy who were influenced by the "biblical criticism" of Alfred Lilley and Enlightenment/post-Enlightenment philosophy.

The popes of the new conciliar Church are largely cut from this cloth, or deeply under the influence of those who are. Francis is an extreme example, but Benedict XVI and John Paul II were much like him, perhaps worse in the former case in light of Abp Ganswein's recent revelations. They do not represent a defense of the faith, as is their charge, but a wild divergence from it.

In spite of the Church's four marks - One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic - you should not understand the "uniting of all races" to mean the mixing of them, but the bringing of them into service to Christ. Historically the Church has defended nationalism, most famously in the case of the Spanish Civil War, when it is a Catholic Nationalism. (cont.)

It has opposed it when it takes the form of statolatry as with Italian fascists and German national socialists. To paraphrase Pope Pius XI in his Mit Brennender Sorge, the love of ones ethnos is good so long as one does not divinise his people. This is the traditional position of the Church.
