if public opinion in Europe tips enough (it already does, see dutch referendum/ statements by France and Germany) and their sanctions get lifted without Minsk II getting implemented, its a clear win for Russia, Ukrops have no chance of ever joining EU
If EU decides to uphold sanctions along with USA, Russia could get into trouble and get forced to withdraw from Donetsk. I actually dont know how heavy the impact of the sanctions is though because theres no "middle ground" of media depiction when it comes to Russia vs. EU.
