What's worse?
>1) Working at a good job (bank, accounting, lawyer, corporate) and making decent money to be able to buy things you want and repeating a monotonous process of waking up every morning to go to work, only to go to sleep at night to repeat the process again until you retire at 65 and realize you've done literally nothing with your life

Fast food workers don't make an impact with their lives. College educated proles are only as useful as their careers, and their uneducated counterparts are literally just plebs meant to grease the wheels of the economy. The only people that matter, (if wealth is your scale,) are the rich.

Surely, you jest.
>>
>>79402895

The only you do that has any impact beyond your immediate surrounding is having kids and raising them right. Nobody will remember who you were in a 100 years.

Your job is a means to pay the bills while participating in the economic life of your community. If you can get a good job, good for you. If you can only get a shit-tier job, it's ok too. As long as you pull your own weight and are adding value to your community, you're doing fine.
>>
>>79404416

But it's true. Wealth follows power. Powerful people can ask for money and people will give it. They can be paid to give their opinions. Individuals, companies and institutions will provide for them merely to garner favor.

My brother and I were puzzled by this as well anon, but then we figured it out. They constantly live above their means. They'll get a credit card and always pay interest on it. They'll get the new iPhone. They'll waste it on addictions like alcohol or tobacco. They'll go to McDonald's (because it's "cheap") and spend $12 on a meal. Then they'll live in really expensive places without roommates to split the rent with. Then they are surprised when their minimum wage check barely covers their stupidity

These people act like they were forced to take these high interest student loans.

They should've known what you were getting into prior to borrowing.

Action is worth nothing if it's mindless. Knowledge is the source, it's what prompts you to do correct and appropriate actions. The truth is more valuable than money. How much money would you spend to know all that there is to know in the world? Knowledge of the truth of things is what enables and encourages all productive action including exchanges in currency and goods.

Being a moron and putting yourself into being a slave to debt is pretty much what you deserve.

As to your question, living a 9-5 lifestyle isn't an inherently bad lifestyle choice, as long as you're focusing on yourself through all of it. Going to work and living life on autopilot is a pathetic existence, but having self awareness about your choices and choosing one lifestyle over another is an example of self empowerment.

>>
>>79402895

You are sort of insane.

Most of the big change in US policy is made by attorneys who do Public Interest work or become AUSAs or judges. They have a huge impact on the world.

If you are successful in a banking or finance career you will be making decisions that impact thousands to millions of people.

Corporate-- are you trying to tell me that CEOs do not impact the world? Even VPs often do. Even director levels, at some companies.

Usually high salaries and job titles are given to people who are changing and impacting the world.

Social workers, teachers, firemen, etc -- they are a part of a system already created and while they get to feel impactful, they are not actually effecting real change in the world, they are just fulfilling predesignated roles. People who control policy and make big decisions are the people who change the world.

It's retirement money. It's not savings or a rainy day fund. Just treat it like a necessary payment that comes out of your salary that you can't avoid - like your electricity bill or health insurance or whatever. What's left over is the money you can put into savings or spend on a TV. You should already have an emergency fund that you can live off for six months before you even think about investing a dime.

>usury
Runs the world, get real. Inflation, bubbles, regular economic crashes, rich getting richer...When it was introduced after the crusades - by the Pope of Rome - it was limited to 3% simple interest and was used to redistribute all the stolen wealth with strings attached. Since then it has grown into a refined system of economic slavery that produces nothing of value to society except spawn a parasite class. Inject usury into any monetary system and it's really just lighting a fuse that is difficult to extinguish. Usually ends in war. This system has literally defined western economic systems for 800 years now and why a country like Switzerland, a capitol of usury, can feed eternally like a bloated parasite on the rest of the world.

Becoming a parasite on society is actually a coveted and respected life plan today!

Don't forget humans are utterly shit at mathmatics anyways, so unless you're a legitimately diagnosed autist or other extreme mental type, complex things like algebra, exponents, and interest will elude you.

3% of $100 is $3.
added to $100 and apply again the same 3%, that $103 is now $3.09 resulting in $106.09
3% of $106.09 is $109.27
So after just a few itterations of interest you already owe an additional 10% of what you were originally loaned... Now imagine that there was only ever $100 worth of valuable objects in the entire world; The person who's giving you the loan is now asking for shit that doesn't exist and what you couldn't possibly provide.
Usury/interest needs to be illegal and these criminals locked away.
