So I've been looking into May a bit, and holy shit she is LITERALLY Thatcher 2.0. Not just because they're both women and both Tories, May basically votes exactly like Thatcher and they're both equally nasty.

What policies does /pol/ disagree with May on?

Is it simply because she's an ancient idiot who doesn't understand the internet and would ban places like this? or is there more to hating her.

wewlad, greens serve a purpose in that they're a containment party. They're something the young lefty retards can pretend they voted for instead of sleeping till 2pm.

If they didn't exist then the extreme young political left might actually get become active and we don't want that.

>How the fuck has she risen to the potential top spot of the fucking tory party?
Why wouldn't she? The Tory Party is a haven for authoritarian SJWs.

Please read The Cameron Delusion if you seriously believe that the Conservative Party is conservative save for an irrelevant handful of powerless backbenchers

BOTH parties are fucked
>>
>>79368622
How can both the greens and the Tories be a haven for SJW's?

aren't they the antithesis to each other
>>
>>79368732
If you put a middle-class Cameroon metropolitan Tory MP and a poncho-clad Green MP in the same room in the same clothes and didn't tell them which party the other was from they would get along absolutely swimmingly

While the voterbase of the Conservative Party is about half real conservatives (which is a shame because their party hates them), this patriotic tribalist vote (for it can be only tribalist) is not reflected by the actions of their Party in government at all

Again, I'm about to go to bed, and there has already been a brilliant book written on this subject - Goodnight and I hope you read it

Both the Tories and (Blairite) Labour are the same party in different colours. They're only different on paper. Both also have plenty of insane SJW types like the Greens. May is one of them.

Corbyn is the only new thing we've had for decades, that's why Labour is going insane trying to destroy him. I just wish we had an equivalent doing the same in the Tories, but it is not so.

She was desperate to do this whilst we were in the EU, as we come out it becomes less important ans the over-riding decision is no longer held by the ECJ.

Reading about Gove, it seems that w/r/t foreign policy he's a neocon on par with Cheney and Rumsfield and continues to defend the Iraq War disaster despite having no stake in it -- he's a true compassionate imperialist. This is extremely off-putting to me, to such an extent that it basically cancels out his Euroskepticism. Neoconservatism is the other side of the globalist coin. Invade the world/invite the world, as Steve Sailer says.

Is Gove really the best candidate? Why is he preferable to May?

The media appears to me to be crafting a faulty "back-stabbing" narrative around Michael Gove. The one who actually "back-stabbed" the nation was Boris Johnson, who implied, in his Telegraph article, that he was going to allow free movement with the EU to continue. He also showed, by his behaviour after the referendum result, that his heart was never really in this campaign. The last thing we need is another Bullingdon club boy at the helm of our nation. Gove is to be trusted. I felt that before in my gut: the fact that the media is altogether against him makes me feel that with certainty. He comes from a humble background, he still has real human instincts, he is not part of the New World Order. He would make the Brexit really go through. That is why they are trying to get rid of him.

it would still make sense to get paid in pounds and then wait for the currency to strengthen before converting back to dollars.

the only way earning dollars now would be more profitable would be if you believe the pound will further weaken and you want to buy them later when they are cheaper.
>>
>>79379599
I'm mainly interested in what you mean by

>lets say he was paid $100 and that equated to £100

£100 is the higher wage. They're not equivalent amounts.
>>
>>79379599

I also get paid in dollars and I made quite a bit more money from last week.

My concern is that British clients are now not going to pay as much because they have to convert from pounds into dollars. Not really an issue because nearly all of my clients are American -- but I was hoping to move more towards British clients.

And, y'know, also when turned back into pounds they are going to increasingly by me less in the weeks to come.

He feels betrayed by the Tories whom he was once a member of, he`s made it his life mission to kill the EU by any means possible, which included almost single-handedly bringing a new fringe party to relevance.
The problem is that UKIP are basically fascists in the eyes of the public when really they`re just a mix of old Conservatives and Libertarians.

No-one's running for PM, they're running for leadership of the ruling party. The leader of the ruling party becomes the PM, we don't vote for them separately. A 'gated community' is one of those weird enclaves of upper middle class houses they have in America which are protected by paramilitary troops and you need to have your retinas scanned to get in.

A house with a gate is not a 'gated community'. Merely having a gate in front of a cluster of houses is not a 'gated community'.

So, let me get this straight… the leader of the opposition campaigned to stay but secretly wanted to leave, so his party held a non-binding vote to shame him into resigning so someone else could lead the campaign to ignore the result of the non-binding referendum which many people now think was just angry people trying to shame politicians into seeing they’d all done nothing to help them.

Meanwhile, the man who campaigned to leave because he hoped losing would help him win the leadership of his party, accidentally won and ruined any chance of leading because the man who thought he couldn’t lose, did – but resigned before actually doing the thing the vote had been about. The man who’d always thought he’d lead next, campaigned so badly that everyone thought he was lying when he said the economy would crash – and he was, but it did, but he’s not resigned, but, like the man who lost and the man who won, also now can’t become leader. Which means the woman who quietly campaigned to stay but always said she wanted to leave is likely to become leader instead.

Which means she holds the same view as the leader of the opposition but for opposite reasons, but her party’s view of this view is the opposite of the opposition’s. And the opposition aren’t yet opposing anything because the leader isn’t listening to his party, who aren’t listening to the country, who aren’t listening to experts or possibly paying that much attention at all. However, none of their opponents actually want to be the one to do the thing that the vote was about, so there’s not yet anything actually on the table to oppose anyway. And if no one ever does do the thing that most people asked them to do, it will be undemocratic and if any one ever does do it, it will be awful.

Clear?

2005 was during the political consensus where the Conservatives were pledging to do what Labour were doing, only with less taxes.

If the 2008 recession had not happened we would be living in a world where the Conservatives would likely be fighting the next election based on stronger working tax credits for families and greater maternity leave.
