I would like to see a political drama with conservatives as the stars of the show, not /pol/ bullshit, but proper and mainstream conservatives. The West Wing had an interesting habit of occasionally throwing conservative opinions a bone and working it into the story.

Isn't Frank Underwood a Democrat

Brother, dear god. You need to do some searching.

>The Thick of It / Into the Loop

BBC political drama, 10/10.

This show follows some of the more sensitive matters of the PM's front office and media. It's a great show involving Brit politics that has zero policy positions that skew left or right.

Just as the real game of politics is shown quite vividly through House of Cards (most politicians don't actually care about their policies and positions, it's simply a way to garner power and their choice of party usually depends on what law firm they article at), The Thick of it shows the nitty-gritty daily grind of working within a senior office.

It also stars Peter Calpaldi, who is funny as fuck.

That one free trade episode of West Wing was fucking god-tier.
>President literally says "fuck it" and reneges on a promise that he made to labor unions just to appease his corporate masters
>this is shown as being neither a good or a bad thing

All around best episode of the entire series, at least as far as accuracy is concerned.
>>
>>79360484
The Thick of It

Extremely dry British wit that doesn't really delve too far to the left or right.

>Frank Underwood is literally a bisexual cuck

Frank Underwood is a Democratic politician. I thought it was pretty red pilled to portray him as a psychopathic homo.
>>
>>79361604
He's also relatively moderate or even conservative in some respects.
>>
>>79360484
You could watch the original House of Cards. The Thick of It is good too desu
>>
>>79360484
wait i thought house of cards was well known to be based off the clintons, and not even particularly liberally as far as power focused, nietzchean will to power, heartless characters go

sure they are the mains....

but how is this pushing leftist propaganda, when it exposes the facade of people who play the bleeding heart?

i dig it, so i may be biased
>>
>>79361604
right?
it pulls back the veil.

to judge it based on the character's political leanings is fundamentally missing out on the main critique of politics that the show offers, that the public policy is a facade for personal masturbation.

da fuq is this thread about, the show is as redpilled as Richard III
>>
>>79360484
The newsroom was kinda right. Ish. Also sorkin
>>
>>79360484

I don't see how House of Cards is leftist propaganda. Leftists are pro-government and that show paints just about everyone in politics as a narcissistic sociopath, particularly the Democratic characters. Also shows how they pander to minorities and pretend to care about the poor just to get power in the most manipulative way possible.
>>
>>79360484
How the fuck is House of Cards leftist propaganda? It's literally about how corrupt the Democratic party and politics in general is.
>>
>>79360714
Kill yourself. That autistic piece of trash is the reason I can't call myself alt-right

In what respects? His job bill was to turn the US into a socialist country.
>>
>>79360714
the anti jew shit is too much, even though the guy is clearly smart
>>
>>79362920
Not to mention it exposes how much influence Israel holds over America.
>>
>>79362920
The democratic president is a sociopath and while his VP is a good guy, he's a bumbling and oblivious idiot. The woman who was Frank's biggest rival on the left eventually started to succumb to underhanded tactics. So I also don't see how House of Cards paints the left in a good way.

If you don't despise anime, I'd recommend Legend of the Galactic heroes.

I've been watching it recently after learning about it's existence from /pol/tards. You've got your intergalactic battle scenes (that are heavily inspired by "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu), and then you have your political scenes where everybody fuck things up. This anime discusses about the philosophies of wars and politics, so if that's your jam, you should watch it. And yeah, it's redpilled, Kaiser Rudolf has already killed every degenerate of the galaxy, Obernstein did nothing wrong.

The first two seasons of HoC were ok but then after that the writing became really liberal and they did several character assassinations in the name of being PC.

they put fucking pussy riot in an episode to spite their russian president notvladimir notputin
>>
>>79364011
Is that not exactly something you could see the Democrats doing if they were slightly more aggressive like they are in the show?
>>
>>79364011
sure one specific instance

but any of the other posts about how they decry the protagonists as socipathic killers with machiavellen tactics, covered up by a guise of bleeding heart leftism

thats repilled as fuq

also, notvladmir notputin is portrayed as a pretty badass dude who's politically a mastermind, though obviously corrupt
>are u implying that putin is not a demagogue?

i respect the guy, respect his nationalism, but cmon, he's an egotistical psychopath, too.

im fairly sure david fincher says this himself

and billy boy clinton says the show is either 90% or 99% accurate, i forget the exact percentage

though his estimation confirms 100% accuracy

same as a guy saying his dick is 8 inches when its only 6, Billy is just trying to save face and not outright admit to having blood on his hands and cum on his coat

Before you do, there's a pilot movie called "My Conquest is the Sea of Star". You might want to watch it before the TV show, as it introduces most of the characters and their motives, but most people skip it and are fine.

Thete's a lot of good stuff from ages and ages ago. There's an awesome Shaw play made into a movie with Kirk Douglas called The Devil's Disciple. There's a lot of Walt Disney Presents stuff from the 60s about the Revolution.
More recently, not a TV show but the Clint Eastwood movie White Hunter, Black Heart is a kick-ass, must-see film, great as a film but also as it's following an SJW with his head up his ass as he virtue signals destructively only to be humbled by an awful comeuppance.
>>
>>79360484
"Alpha House" on amazon prime.

Full on republican and funny as fuck
>>
>>79364658
I don't see how the show is blue pilled then. Unlike game of thrones that pushes an agenda just because, cards isn't really pushing anything it's just showing how terrible the Clintons are

Alpha house is pretty left, honestly. They make fun of the fake patriotism on the right, the religious extremism of the right, and even some famous right donors like the Kochs (but not some of the big ones on the left like Soros).

It's not, though, because the narrative constantly takes his side, and creates artificial suspense and sympathy when there is a threat to him or tragedy involving him. Foreign policy decisions are shown to gnaw at his conscience. His enemies are very often portrayed as more depraved and despicable than he is.

I suspect the original idea was to give us the most corrupt politician possible, and to sneak it past audiences bored with ham-handed sermons by having him be a Democrat. But then as time went on they warmed to him and recognized that they had created an allegory for the Clintons. So they made him a noble president, forced a situation in which the Republicans have made him a victim, and then awkwardly shunted him into the role of a Bush caricature warmonger.
>>
>>79362883
Newsroom was where Sorkin went to shit, it's a show where he writes strawmen to win arguments with himself against.

West Wing leaned left, but had some legit nuggets where they get BTFO by Republicans.

I'll add that this show has a LOT of writers. This was just a feeling I had, but when I started looking at other shows to compare I got second thoughts. For example, Lost had about 50% more writers than HoC over the course of 6 seasons, which seemed about even; while 24 had a little under twice as many over the course of 8 seasons.

Then I remembered that a season of HoC is just over half as many episodes as these other shows.

19 writers for 52 episodes might not be a nightmare situation, but it lines up with the impression I had that the series was scatterbrained; that there was disagreement over who the Underwoods were, what they meant, and whether they were good or evil; and that in some cases the writers just plain forgot what had happened earlier in the series.
