Because the argument is is that it affects the poor a lot more than the rich, as arable land decreases and sea levels rise the communities that are most devastated are poorer ones.

At least with CC its both an actual problem that there are tangible solutions to, and you can support it without getting ideological.
Unlike with Feminism in the 1st world or BLM, you can approach the environment without assuming an ethereal force is behind it like the patriarchy. But yeah, we can actually solve problems here, we can switch to alternative energy, support mass transit, and encourage people to make smarter decisions.
Climate change. It does occur, but is not man-made. We should still not litter, we should take care of wildlife and habitats and stuff, keep the earth beautiful and clean of course.
