There are many American accents to be honest. The west coast accent sounds saccharine, sterile and contrived. The southern accent sounds either aristocratic of absolutely retarded without there seeming to be much in between. The Midwest country accent sounds naive, friendly and simple.

Nah, in fairness it's hard to describe. It's more like the meaning of what we say can vary wildly depending on context - e.g. tone, emphasis, circumstance, the present company, setting etc., and also the nods, winks and other physical cues. This is true for most human communication, but it's just more so for us than others.

Not at all. I'm saying you're far more direct, we're far more indirect. Americans here feel a bit lost when we speak because we're so indirect and don't verbalise a lot of what we communicate (because to us it can still be clear as day even if we don't voice it). Conversely, Irish people in America tend to find that our indirectness confuses people who are used to a more direct, literal, idiot-proof way of communicating.

American people (often from intellectual backgrounds) who annunciate and can articulate well sound good. Great even. I also have a soft spot for the less loved Bostonian and Southern accents, sometimes on the latter.
Cali-anything sounds fucking horrendous and if you're a dumb American then your accent only serves to make you look and sound stupid to the point of people pitying you. So it varies. America has a lot of regional dialect like we do.

I know American English isn't the original, but I still think it's the most correctly pronounced of all accents, provided we're going off a neutral American accent like from Colorado.
Ask a Brit to sound out the letter R and they'll get it right, then ask them to say "tar" and they'll say "taw" or "tah" or something in between. Americans pronounce it correctly because they incorporate the letter R as it was meant to be pronounced. And that's just one example.
