Had an interview with a gas station. No call back.
Tried a tea place, factory, kmart, walmart, marcs, internships, best buy, time warner, huntington bank, janitor at planet fitness, petsmart stocker, dock worker, dollar store, staples, and no call back.

How long would it take to go to a trade school and get a job as a plumber or electrician or something?

I keep getting recruiter calls, but they cannot match what I presently make from either remote gig I'm working at the moment. (one full time, 1 contract).

Full time gig pays 55 an hour plus full benefits, 401k, etc. Not bad money out in Arizona. Second gig pays 60-75 an hour depending on the contract. No benefits, but I already have insurance and all that so it works.

Am in holiday presently in Nip land.

My first job is going to be in a week or so. I'm kind of sad that I can't be a NEET anymore, or at least for a little while, but we're struggling with bills and I would have more money for video games and snacks so I think it's okay. I'd be going out to a gym to clean up around 10:30 at night with my mommy. She says I can earn like $1000 a month which sounds crazy, I've never had that much money at one time in my life

Got a retail job 6 months ago and everything was great. Now it's winter they've moved me to another park and i've gone from 1 boss and 1 roster to fucking 9 bosses and 6 different rosters, i've missed two shifts and once turned up when i wasn't rostered because their roster app isn't synced with their paper rosters and their paper rosters on site are different from the paper rosters in the office, so i'm getting blamed for missing shifts when i can't find the right fucking roster.

The worst part is, i love the job, but i feel like i'm gonna lose it, or get fewer rostered shifts, and missing shifts is apparently 'permanently marked' on my information sheet in the offices.

It's maddening.

Isn't it the worst when the thought hits you before you get out of bed in the morning? I suggest getting off the computer, as condecending as that may initially sound. My hd started dying about 3 weeks ago so it's been out of commission since, and in that time I've outlined a story idea I've had in my head for years as well as gone through 99% of my things to sort a donation pile.
I've used 4chan once a day at most, just to see if there was a happening before getting back to productivity. I don't even want to fix my pc now.

If it's any consolation many office jobs are extremely antisocial. I just sit in an enclosed cubicle with a computer for 9 1/2 hours a day, don't talk to anyone, and alternate between makework and 4chan. It's almost no different to being at home as a NEET, except you get paid.

I must not im afraid.

I went to one of the top 10 universities of latin america, paid for by the government using taxpayers money...

As a part of the 10% of the population that had the opportunity to go to college, and even more so because it is a good one, it is my duty to stay and use my skills to help improve my country that has given me such an opportunity.

If I left I would be abandoning my fellow compatriots.

Also, I would not be welcomed there by most of your population, like this guy>>79237528

All in all, im better off at my own shitty clay than in some foreign clay whose population don't want me there.

I want to say it's not a requirement, but in actuality, it is literally the best thing you could have under your belt for this line of work. It would basically increase your chances of being considered 10fold.

That's why I said practice some gray hat stuff, stuff that may be illegal technically, but non malicious. Frame it in a way that sounds legal of course. Black hat shit will just get you black listed and nobody is going to want you except the government under close supervision and scrutiny.

If you haven't already, install linux, know it, understand it, then know and understand windows beyond the basic user interface. Understand all the shit that lies beneath the hood (believe me, Windows is convoluted and complicated as fuck and it's good to know your way around).

Educate yourself on the three core IT principles, Hardware, Software and Networking. Study all of them and studying Security is so much easier than if you were to just jump right in.

this.

also read phrack magazine, and ensure you understand everything by the end of that task. look up information as you go along. none of it will be directly useful today, but it will give you a foundation of knowledge that will extend to the field.

next read the last 12 months of bugtraq, and starting reviewing current trends. all of this will take you a long time to fully digest (probably a year if you're ambitious).

also, learn about reverse engineering - get to the point where you can write your own keygen in assembler after unpacking a foreign binary yourself. this will take you another few months.

in 2 years, you will be a god.

good luck

Guess it just suits my natural sleep schedule better.

No not at all.

Granted the offensive side (or red team as it's called) is in fact more fun than the defensive side (blue team), but that in no way diminishes the actual amount of knowledge and work that goes into cyber security.

You have to know your environments just as well if not better than your adversaries, you have to take many preemptive measures and implement many solutions to get a functional cyber ecosystem going.

It is not easy, and it is not an industry where they just hire chumps. Those jobs pay damn good money for a reason, because they are literally being tasked with defending their entire business, and just about every single business worth a damn these days operates somehow through the net.

It's a very organized procedure, and you might want to look into what's called "incident response". Basically the cleanup and forensics aspect. Not an easy task.

So the trend is that companies are forced to spend more money on the never ending arms race that is cyber security due to how tech is becoming so pervasive.

Haha, ok first off, don't ever ask for a "hacking guide" or anything like that in person by a professional. You will be laughed at so hard you'll regret it.

Colloquially speaking, just about everybody refers to as making a computer or other electronic system do something as it wasn't intended to as "hacking", although the actual proper term would be "cracking", which is the malicious side of making computers and electronic systems do something they weren't designed to do, and hacking being the ethical, playful side. Throughout the years however, the blanket term "hacker" has evolved to just mean gaining access where you aren't supposed to.

In actuality, in the actual industry, Hackers are merely people who exploit any given functions of a program or piece of equipment and makes it do something other than it was intended to by its creators. This would include bypassing security.

Don't ever fall into the trap misconception of the portrayal of "hackers" by the media and hollywood. In real life, "hacking" takes quite a while and is more time spent looking at lines and lines of code and trying millions to billions of different passwords and waiting and hoping for a match.

If I were to sum up how to get into the hacking scene, I would merely tell you to get good and just literally learn as much as you can about everything.

There is no magical guide that tells you how to "hack". The true hackers know how to hack because they know what they are hacking. How do you expect to hack Windows if you know nothing about it? Do you know anything about the registry, event logs, system services, the strengths and weaknesses of each of these components?

The best way to learn how to hack is simply to know what you're using. That's it.

As far as a GNU/Linux distribution goes, if you've never used one before, nothing wrong with Ubuntu or Linux Mint, but eventually move on to a more difficult distro like Arch, or Gentoo.

Lurk /g/ if you don't already.

Contrary to pessimist beliefs, people do do thing because they feel it's the right thing to do, regardless of the cost. There's nothing wrong with that. For some people, it's not about the money, but the progress. For others, it's all about the money.

My jobs have been up and down. Used to work for a major phone company here inside a shopping centre, then I left that, now I'm a cleaner, a certified personal trainer, and a security guard on the weekends. I might take up my PT role, not really sure yet. My current job offers good hours/pay. If I can find a PT job with the same hours/pay, or better, then hell yeah. Do I regret my decision leaving? Not really, I was over it. Sometimes you have to take a step back to get somewhere. I'm trying to work my way into airport security since the cleaner/security jobs are owned by the same company.

For those wondering why I went from being a retail person to a cleaner, well, I tried to apply for other retail jobs, but I was denied for some reason, so I stopped trying and took a step back. For those that are struggling, just try and get something, don't have the CEO 10k/day attitude, it's dangerous, and it might ruin your working life. Work your way up, even if its a job at the bottom of the barrel. And for those that seem to get turned down by jobs such as cleaning etc, you might want to take a look in the mirror, the way you are/look/dress might be telling you something.

Keep your head up, fàms.

You're on the right track bro. Pretty much every industry these days view straight-out-of-college kids as absolute shit tier workers, which is mostly true. Anyone with any experience actually working a real job has a huge advantage.

Get a gun, shoot it next to your ear, then reevaluate your life.

No. I paid $190 to professionals who will rewrite my resume to make it pass trough the HR

I wouldn't consider myself sheltered ( I might be I just don't know anymore ).
What do you actually mean by sheltered?
Sheltered from the struggles of a modern jobless/hopeless world or sheltered from society in general?

Tfw 155k.
Tfw 90-ish after taxes.
Tfw 30k rent.

It's a social media/marketing job for the place. Basically, you just need to sell yourself for the position. I've only worked as a busboy and customer service, but you can spin anything into professional experience. Also, most firms will be willing to foot the bill for grad school if you're not a fuckwit.

Unemployed for a year.

Started getting interviews this week after a month of no call backs.

Had an interview on Tuesday and have one tomorrow morning for two small businesses.

I suck at interviews and advice hasn't helped
>>
I've never had to work in my entire life and I'm not planning on doing so any time soon. So long as I can collect autism bucks I will, because the alternative sounds like a nightmare to me.

If I could change I would, but I don't know how.
>>
>>79240909
>Its real easy

Not if you are complete shit at interviews.

Here's some advice that won't help:

Better to be overconfident than to lack confidence.

Lie.

Say you worked for a company called "Crossmark". You were a "retail merchandiser". Your duties were:
>Maintained 100 percent authorized distribution of all required products in assigned area
>Cut-In and introduced new items
>Maintained store shelf standards and inventory
>Rotation of new products
>Supplied and placed point of sale materials
>Implemented shelf plan-o-grams
>Communicated effectively with store personal
>Lifted up to 50lbs occasionally

If they ask you to break it down what that means, tell them you worked with a team that your buddy got you involved with. You worked various grocery stores around where you live. He was the team leader and would give you a call and say that you were working a specific store this morning, and all you would do is go in and move products around. You would resize the shelves and move pickles over here, and paper towels over there. Have them call your buddy as the supervisor (they won't) and tell them he ran everything. All you had to do was show up and make easy money. But you're quitting because it's not enough hours, only four days a week.

It works, and it looks better to have some experience. I use this on my resume from a time I didn't work.

Ever wished for an "opt out" option? Where you can simply choose to have never existed?

I've considered suicide every day for the last few years (I'm 22) and the only thing that stops me is that I'd upset my family. I'm also the only male descendant in my family, so my name dies with me.

The idea of killing myself and scarring my family for the rest of their lives hurts me more than the fear of death or the need to escape. Without my family I would've done it a long time ago.

I wish every day that I can simply close my eyes and never wake up, or have never existed. Nobody to mourn me, nobody to cry about how they never saw it coming... just an end to this worthless life, allowing everyone else to get on with theirs.

If only...

I have a detailed plan and everything if I ever get the courage to take the risk. It involves the least chance of me being discovered having comitted suicide. I would just go away for a few years, then "stop contact."

Get a stackexchange account and be helpful.
Use the account as your resume, that's what I do.

Then go to weworkremotely.com and look for remote customer support positions to start, don't even need to leave your house.

Consider religion. I'm not only talking about christianity, but consider even islam. I hate islam, but our life is way more important then that shit.

>>79241599
Yep that's basically exactly me. Right down to being the only male descendant. I love my family but I wish I wasn't such an embarrassing failure. My parents are the only ones keeping my going. I think I'm too cowardly for it though, so I'm doomed to misery. I wish I'd never existed either.

Why are there no jobs that you can just "get" or apply for, like welfare and food stamps?

For all this talk about how many jobs there are available they sure aren't looking to hire anyone soon.
