I had always wanted to be a woman from a super young age but being a guy was actually tons easier than being trans for me since I am still interested in women. Heterosexuality is so normal all of your interactions with people is much more transparent. When you flirt with a girl they understand, but as a trans person if they're straight they are confused because they don't know I have a dick, if they're lesbian they don't want me to have a dick.
