Friend of mine clears 100k a year, has three kids and is broke as shit. He works 2 jobs 7 days a week to pay the mortgage and still comes up short some months.
His wife is the laziest piece of shit I've ever seen. She NEVER cleans, allows the dogs and cats to mess everywhere, doesn't put up the clothes, and spends his money on stupid shit all day. She also constantly flirts with me.
The house is destroyed by the kids and pets. It fucking smells like garbage and shit. He can't fix it up because he's broke and works all the time. It looks like an abandoned house despite the fact they bought it new only 4 years ago. His neighbors hate him because of this.
His kids are wild. Never do what they are told despite and punishment he dishes out, including spankings. They are constantly hurting each other, him, and me on the occasions I have to go over. The more you hurt, the more they laugh. The oldest is only 6.

How kids turn out is largely dependent on the parents characteristics i.e. your friend and/or his wife are probably unreasonable towards the children.
I have two kids, 6 and 2, and they're nice, easygoing little people, because that's how we treat them.
I see kids at my son's school who are fucking nightmares, but then their parents (usually just one mother actually) are fucking miserable, stressed out, angry people.
Don't let other people's kids put you off from having your own, chances are your kids will turn out to be little versions of yourself.
