There is no good reason for instance, why minimum wage in cities should be set differently from minimum wage in flyover states, except for the fact that there is a huge, artificial bubble being propped up by welfare subsidization keeping people in coastal cities.
Remove the incentive to live in the giant cities, and people will have to develop elsewhere. This will bring money to other regions of the USA and let them develop, which will synergistically affect other regions as well.

You don't have to go to an expensive ivy league school. Almost every city has a small university or community college. Most states have job commissions that have local offices that offer job training and that can put you in touch with trade organizations. I went to a cowtown engineering and science school, and my total tuition was less than $80k, and the Pell Grant covered the majority of it.

I'm a millenial. I have a BA in Communication - worthless in some people's opinion, I know, but that's not the point. After college, my first job was shit, salaried for 30k. Did it for 6 months and quit bc it was too shitty. Second job, 30k salary + commission. I did that for 15 months and made 39k in that year. My 3rd job, I'm salaried for 45k + commission doing the same thing as my last job; the least amount I can make this year is 59k w/ current commission structure. FYI all of these jobs require a college degree, so I'm glad I stuck it out to finish that, even though its just a BA in Communication.
