The left is always trying to find ways to undermine democracy. Every vote, if it doesn't go their way, they will talk about all the loopholes they will exploit to make it go their way.
They have no problem with the system until they realize everyone else isn't as closed minded as them.
>>
They're arguing for the Athenian system, by the way, which to their minds means selecting people at random then "educating" them on the issues and then placing decision making with them.

Conspciously quiet on who'll do this "educating".

The Guardian is totally out of control, why nobody call them on their bullshit ?

Are you serious? Athena got rid of that system because of how fucking terrible it was.

Reporting from burger land where our election system has been sideways for years.

Wouldn't that quickly get you labeled as a racist/fascist/xenophobic/white supremacist?
We have feminism and all that other dumb shit but can't you guys actually get in trouble with the law for unpopular opinions?
Why would you speak out against the people in charge when it'll damn near ruin your life if made public?

There should be no need for elected officials if everyone just did their part regardless of what the remote control is trying to say.

Oh wait, that costs money, and when it costs money, no one cares.

>Our system worked well for decades, but now that it resulted in a vote I don't like, it must be shit.

That's not their first paper against democracy, pic related: Owen cuck Jones against free speech.

Look at what they write:
>People care deeply about their communities and want to be heard.
>But a much better way to let the people speak than through a referendum is to return to the central principle of Athenian democracy: drafting by lot, or sortition as it is presently called.
>In ancient Athens, the large majority of public functions were assigned by lot.
>Renaissance states such as Venice and Florence worked on the same basis and experienced centuries of political stability.
>With sortition, you do not ask everyone to vote on an issue few people really understand, but you draft a random sample of the population and make sure they come to the grips with the subject matter in order to take a sensible decision.
>A cross-section of society that is informed can act more coherently than an entire society that is uninformed.

That's the definition of an oligarchy.
The example this authoritarian piece of shit use is the one of italian cities, which were notorious to be ruled by the wealthiest families, so much for the left.
I don't even speak about the bullshit of the last line, which basically is "if you vote against me, you are obviously a retard".

Seeing this in a /pol/ shitpost would not surprise me, seeing this on the guardian fucking scare me.
We know that is what they think in their Nomenklatura since decades but saying it out loud is the next level.

This is why I love living in a constitutional republic.
>>
>>79147634
lol haha

but you know how this works right?

they repeat it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and eventually the majority of people believe it, and then they're on the right side of history

:^)
>>
>>79145915
Well US presidential elections are fucked considering there's only a handful of states whose voters actually matter
Strong right and left state voters don't matter at all
>>
>>79148981
Let me guess, the people chosen to vote are chosen through a lottery picked by the government in charge?

I want to laugh at the ignorance but it's hard watching hundreds of years of western advancement die at the hands of people who claim to hate the monsters they go to bed with.

If this isn't photoshopped then i truly despair. They've been many philosophers (Plato being the most accurate, FPBP) who've argued against the principles of democracy but history tells otherwise, though the modern left likes to ignore history (painting the Nazi as anything other then a Socialist happening).

The worse word in the modern lefts vocabulary is Populist. By it's very definition, it is the majority view and opinion.

Who wouldn't fuck a donkey if horny?

The Globalist Left have always seen Democracy as a tool to achieve their goal. This doesn't mean that it is their preferred tool, and when that goal is unreachable via democracy, they will want to throw democracy away.
>>
He's right, both the UK and the US need a proportional voting system, not this

Everyone is losing tens of trillions of dollars every year now.

Its like the money just dissolves into nothing.

Like where the fuck does all that money go? Goods and services right? Then what? Back into peoples pockets to be spent on goods and services again? But then there's these little things called taxes, interest, fees and shit that are relatively small fractions of each transaction, but after enough repetitions add up to a significant amount to whomever happened to be in the beneficiary of the system built by their ancestors.

The more money, the more purchase power, the more you can game the rules to stay in the minority privilege group. (MPG) This is the default instinct to operate on these terms.

The smart thing to do is to find your MPG and only drive as far as you can afford with the destination to increase the MPG.

The usury system sucks all the capital out of free market. You just don't notice bacuse it's not a direct theft.
>>
I've not read it but that statement seems true. In 2016 a lot of people seem to see democracy as this strange system where you fling a vote out into the ether and if you get lucky you get someone that is only kind of a morally corrupt dickhead.

Then you go back to not caring in the slightest because democracy is seen as something other people do for you. So long as you get your vote!

Which makes assholes on /pol/ happy because you guys fucking hate democracy. You don't want other people to have a say and you game the system as much as anyone else to try and silence others.

You don't want gun control so you love the fact the NRA owns the Republican party. It's pathetic.

>he worse word in the modern lefts vocabulary is Populist. By it's very definition, it is the majority view and opinion.

No it isn't you fucking dolt. It's a political movement that pits the average Joe against the man.

Did you really just see that word and go "hey that means whatever is most popular. Why is it only used in a few specific cases though?"
>>
>>79150863
Yup. I got in credit card trouble once when I was 20. Paid it off, and adamantly refuse to take out any more debt. It literally destroys any chance of happiness.

Only exception is 30 bucks per month for my cell phone bill. Company doesn't take my bank card (AmEx), so I got a master card that sits in a safe, excepting 5 minutes per month. I immediately mail out a check for the amount afterwards.

Staying out of debt, and saving instead, is the absolute best thing you can do. I even walked 2 miles to work, and 2 miles from work every day until I could afford a car.
>>
>>79151374
Prolly because its easy to believe that the majority of people claim to be ordinary / average which is a popular view.
