Most of Alaska's reserves are conventional, and most conventional oil reserves either have already peaked production or are very close to peaking production. As I've already said, Nevada, not Alaska, is your country's main gold producer. The entire state of Alaska produced 27,200 kilograms that same year.
Alaska seems to have a lot of gold because a) it has a lot of small-scale mines that don't produce economically significant quantities and b) fucking nobody lives in Alaska. If you want to measure gold production per capita, for some fucking reason, Alaska does pretty well—until you compare it with the neighbouring Yukon Territory, which has only 33,000 people compared to Alaska's 750,000, and yet produces twice as much gold as Alaska.
